$250 is way better than having an angry moose attack you. "Herbivore" doesn't mean "gentle".

Yeah, I'll bet federal authorities totally don't know about exif data or anything.

Would that surprise you? Besides, what are they gonna do? Look at the pixels?

Precisely, what data can they glean from your image that would show it isn't 'shopped (especially if you've shopped parts of it in any way)?

If it's been through Photoshop, it will get tagged as such in the metadata.  Your average jackoff with a camera phone and Facebook (and the airtight "it was shooped" alibi) doesn't know that.

Moose are ornery and can be dangerous as hell if you mess with them.  They got off light.  I don't remember the exact distances anymore, but I remember in one of the Canadian National Parks the recommended distance to stay away from moose was further than for grizzly bears.

Moose are like the hippopotamus of North America.  Everyone is afraid of bears and mountain lions, but it's moose that injure the most people every year. Mama moose are very thorough in killing threats to their cubs  calves.  They come back and trample you a second and third time, just to make sure.

Yeah... Most northerners know that moose are dangerous. They'll fark you up worse than a bear will. Leave moose alone if you know what's good for you.

Canton: I've said it before and I'll say it again. Never underestimate hoofed ungulates. Even the domestic species can be dangerous if you don't know how to handle them. (Cows kill what, 20 people in the US per year?) Don't mess with moose. You'd think that'd be common sense...

These guys were lucky to get off with a fine.

I completely disagree. Moose are completely safe and friendly

Uh, it was two dipshiat teenagers. It's not like it takes anything to put them in 2 separate rooms and wait about 10 minutes before one of them starts blubbering like a little girl and rats both of them out.

Dictionaries: how do they work?

Haze
1.To persecute or harass with meaningless, difficult, or humiliating tasks.

Also, I've been treed by a moose - never been so scared in my life and that includes two motorcycle crashes and being shot at.
