It's NYC, dude.  Rich people live in apartments too.  Also, apartments doesn't necessarily mean renting.

But she lives in a village, she should be able to afford a proper house!

/rich people don't have apartments, they have pieds-à-terre

Out here in Tulsa, a house is only $80k.  She must be poor.  Nobody wants to live in New York anyway.   It's way too expensive.

Original Article "I'm extremely blessed and anyone who doesn't like that can fark off"

Second Article "People on the internet are assholes"

I've been blessed in life too, princess. I'm a white, heterosexual, educated male raised in a Protestant household. I work full time as an accountant. I've never been homeless, been to war, been to jail, or had to break the law to survive. I have health insurance and date regularly. I am a lucky one, and it's my damn responsibility to pass that on as much as possible because not everyone gets to have my life.

Society is farking expensive, so I pay my taxes and give to charity (albeit not enough). I vote and I try to get people educated. I try to be a responsible person because I'm so far ahead of the damn curve. You're in my class, sugartits. Act like you've been blessed.

Absolutely.  And that's why 20 year-olds have no business talking about anything important or nuanced.  I go back, occasionally, into old word documents to see some of the shiat I put on paper when I was in college, and I just thank god Facebook wasn't so prevalent then, or else that shiat'd be preserved on the Interwebz for all to see.

I guess I'm just saying that, yeah, her "if they knew I was gay they'd be nice to me" post is beyond stupid, but so is telling a college kid to go kill herself after she indelicately talks about her privilege.

Even if it has the logo printed all over it, you need to check the hardware and the stitching. The knockoffs are VERY good and are hard to tell from the actual designer piece. The knockoffs are still expensive, but not nearly as expensive as the real deal. However, it's a bad idea to try and check the hardware and stitching on a woman's bag unless you know her very, very well. It tends to upset us, especially if we're trying to be pretentious biatches with a handbag, whose fine quality and superior workmanship we surely appreciate more than you.

Her logic here is bizarre.  She admits her sexuality is irrelevant and yet insists on having it made an issue.

Consistency is not her strong suit. Or maybe it is, if her other suits are farking awful.

gopher321: Girl has issues.

There was an awful lot of projection in her first article. Whether she is overall a good person, a bad person, both, or neither, none of that changes the fact that she's got a lot of insecurity.  She doesn't need to worry about how others judge her so much as how she's judging herself.

Since she makes a deal about how liberal she is I would hazard the guess that what's bugging her is that she does feel guilty about how much money she has.  It's not a bad thing to be recognize that you're luckier than other people, but she do better to channel that into volunteering at a soup kitchen or something, rather than getting defensive about it.

I think if I were her father, I'd stop providing for her for a little while and let her find out how hard it is out there.

My father's father did just such a thing when he caught my dad taking a month off from college (my father was the first one in our family to EVER go to college) to attend some skiing championship out in Colorado instead of studying for finals. When my father returned from his trip, he found that his rent was overdue, his car was missing, and his next semester's tuition was due, all things that his father was paying for. He completed law school on his own, working two or three jobs, and became a humble person who did a lot of pro-bono work for people who couldn't help themselves. He never became a rich lawyer, he became one of those lawyers who help people who can't go anywhere else. He said it completely transformed his outlook on how the world works and made him a better person in every way (although it probably took decades for that outlook to fully form in his mind).

So yeah, fark this girl. Her father should pull the plug and let her be a better person.

I like making fun of her because of her turgid prose.  The pointless brand-name references and the incessant rhetorical questions (when she should just state an opinion) lead me to believe that she uses Sex and the City as her style guide.

There's always someone on the other side of the wall, even if that means they're outside.

Also, unlike poor people apartments, rich people apartments tend to be better insulated against sound so that you don't know there are people on the other side.
