I wish, because apparently by the laws of the internet being offended means you're right. Unfortunately I have to settle for being merely dismayed at how base interaction has become when the internet gets itself so worked up over nothing, repeatedly, just to sell some page views. It's so tiresome.

If she doesn't inherit the rest of her life's funding, I think she's in for a really rough time. Let her feel on top of the world now.

Okay, I just read the original article (her "I won't pretend to be poor" or whatever) and, honestly, aside from being badly written and including a preposterous inference on her part ("That cashier and customer were totes mad at me for having a big purse.  Seriously, I have proof."), there really was nothing wrong with it:  She was basically saying it's not her fault she was born into relative privilege--a point worth discussing.

Then I read her follow-ups and thought, Wow, she sounds a biatch now.  And I wondered, why the difference?  How does she go from being a 20 year-old bad writer, to a 20 year-old biatch.  And I realized: it's because she's 20 years old, she wrote something inconsequential, and then acted like a 20 year-old (shocker!) when people told her to go kill herself.

This is a stupid, stupid story.

Guys, guys, guys. This girl clearly has problems that are not her fault that she has no control over. Who cares if she's rich or gay or an insufferable biatch.

Bottom line is that's it's just not cool to make fun of the intellectually disabled. That this one happened to be born to a non-poor and got her face in a newspaper for being a twat is no exception.

Even if it has the logo printed all over it, you need to check the hardware and the stitching. The knockoffs are VERY good and are hard to tell from the actual designer piece. The knockoffs are still expensive, but not nearly as expensive as the real deal. However, it's a bad idea to try and check the hardware and stitching on a woman's bag unless you know her very, very well. It tends to upset us, especially if we're trying to be pretentious biatches with a handbag, whose fine quality and superior workmanship we surely appreciate more than you.

Since she makes a deal about how liberal she is I would hazard the guess that what's bugging her is that she does feel guilty about how much money she has.  It's not a bad thing to be recognize that you're luckier than other people, but she do better to channel that into volunteering at a soup kitchen or something, rather than getting defensive about it.

I think if I were her father, I'd stop providing for her for a little while and let her find out how hard it is out there.

My father's father did just such a thing when he caught my dad taking a month off from college (my father was the first one in our family to EVER go to college) to attend some skiing championship out in Colorado instead of studying for finals. When my father returned from his trip, he found that his rent was overdue, his car was missing, and his next semester's tuition was due, all things that his father was paying for. He completed law school on his own, working two or three jobs, and became a humble person who did a lot of pro-bono work for people who couldn't help themselves. He never became a rich lawyer, he became one of those lawyers who help people who can't go anywhere else. He said it completely transformed his outlook on how the world works and made him a better person in every way (although it probably took decades for that outlook to fully form in his mind).

So yeah, fark this girl. Her father should pull the plug and let her be a better person.

"Apartment" means a place you rent, in a multi-unit building.
"Condominium" is the word you were looking for.  That's when you OWN 1 or more units in the multi-unit building.

She can put on airs when she moves into a big-people house.

It's NYC, dude.  Rich people live in apartments too.  Also, apartments doesn't necessarily mean renting.

You were doing so well, then you went full retard.

"Apartment" means a place you rent, in a multi-unit building.
"Condominium" is the word you were looking for.  That's when you OWN 1 or more units in the multi-unit building.

Words have specific meanings and just because you are too lazy/stupid to use the correct one, doesn't change their meanings.

TL:DR  Apartment means renting, condo means owning.

In most places the condo/apartment distinction is true, but in NYC people can either own or rent their apartments.

What a shock... in addition to the screaming that someone looked at her wrong while she was shopping post, then the internet is mean and the LGBT people HAVE to defend me post, she also has more...

Choice parts of her wish list:

1. A badass lighter that never gets lost in your bag and allows you to light a perfect cig every time regardless of the wind.
4. A pest detection alarm that alerts you to creatures so you don't shiat your pants right away.
5. A sign that beams out at creeps when a biatchy resting face isn't substantial and says, "If you look at me again I will castrate you".
9. Sunglasses that discreetly keep your bank balance + spending in the corner of your eye. Don't want to deal with your impending poverty? Take them off.
11. An app that tells you through a red light/green light system how hard places ID and if your bullshiat internet ID that isn't from ID Chief (RIP) will work or your borrowed ID that doesn't even look like you will pass.
13. A portable device that can attach to your keys that tests your drugs for you and can identify whether or not it's laced with some nasty shiat. Seriously people, this shiat's important always make sure your drugs are safe.

Those wants just scream class.

And her first article is called:
"Confession: I'm A Chronic Female Masturbator"

The most truthful quote she's put out there is probably:
"If you all wanted to show me, you would realize that I am a sad, sad little girl, seeking out attention and you wouldn't give me the time of day. Go ahead, shun me, act like I'm irrelevant. I'm a lot more afraid of that than being told to jump off of a bridge. "

Well, she whined that the gay community was also too mean to her because she wasn't butch enough, and that people on the street are mean to her because she doesn't look mean enough, so I guess if she added that we'd also need a story about how the disabled are mean to her because her disability isn't cool enough.

She also slipped in being suicidal most of her life, drug references, and alcohol references.  One of those could be a good excuse.

Actually, she probably does have some major depression issues - she appears to believe everyone hates her without even talking to any of them.  It's not just the checkout girl.  She's posted lashing out towards at least 3 different groups who 'looked at her wrong' without any words exchanged at all.

Also, unlike poor people apartments, rich people apartments tend to be better insulated against sound so that you don't know there are people on the other side.

It's not just NYC where there are luxury apartments.  I've known quite a few well off people who choose to live in luxury apartments in urban areas.  Dining, nightlife, shopping, culture, entertainment are all nearby, rather than living an hour away in exclusive gated exurbs.

I lived for two years in an nice apartment complex.  I lived in crappy ones when I was in my 20s.  The difference is night and day, but people who associate apartments only with drunk frat-boys and cat ladies didn't totally grasp it.  They were always shocked that I had as much space as a house, a gate with an intercom, woodburning fireplace, 12 foot ceilings, attached garage, doorstep trash pickup, etc.  And, it was within walking distance of two bars... and a golf academy, two synagogues, and a liposuction clinic. Neighbors below and on both sides, but I never heard anything*.

* The neighbors had a yappy dog, and I could hear it bark incessantly when my door was open.  As soon as I closed the door, the sound disappeared.

If Daddy is renting an apartment for a college student in the West Village, they're probably rich.

"Editor's note: "Conservatism 101" is a project of the Leadership Institute, which is the parent organization of Campus Reform."

Hence, this is an online news site for college age people that soft shoes conservatism to its readers. Think about the title... "reform" is a relatively progressive or liberal word. It may subtly appeal to liberal college students who come across it, allowing for a tiny bit of persuasion and innuendo to enter the reader's world view. For conservatives, "campus reform" means reforming the bias on campuses. This is a conservative group trying to make inroads on young liberal voters.

So they are trying to endear themselves to liberals? Nothing new here. College is not the Liberal brainwashing camp that it is portrayed to be in most cases. Kevin72 Total loser. Disgrace to the gays, that is if she is really gay which I doubt. Parents have spoiled her. Her giving the digitus impudicus is doing herself no favors.

I don't see how she is a disgrace to the gays.  There are asshole gays same as there are asshole straights.  Asshole gays abound, usually as catchers.  Also there are asshole whites, asshole blacks, asshole asians, asshole assholes.  It's a wide wide world of assholes.

It's the way she's playing the "gay card" in a selfish self-promotion in a way that only hurts gays.

sleeps in trees: Real Women Drink Akvavit: sleeps in trees: Am I the only person who doesn't get the expensive purse thing?  I couldn't tell a designer bag from a $20 bag unless it has the logo printed all over it.  Further, I'd never spend that kind of cash on a bag.

/I have a Hello Kitty backpack!
//it's totally real
///you can tell cuz I got it at WalMart

I like the cut of your jib.  I use my purse to hold juice boxes, gum, wet wipes, candy and a wallet.  The rest of the space is for the "Hey could you put this in your purse?"  men in my life.

Wallet & phone, tablet, wet wipes, occasional theater visit "supplies," husband's tablet & phone, hand sanitizer, those little travel toothbrushes & floss & breath strips, a small teddy bear, my daughter's tablet, and a pen. My husband is amazed I can fit all of that in such a small bag. I tell him it has time lord technology.

She can put on airs when she moves into a big-people house.

You don't know much about housing in Manhattan, it seems. Renting an apartment is not just for the Poors

Unless you can afford to buy the entire building, you're going to have neighbors living above/below/next to you in the same building.

Looks like those airplanes hit the wrong buildings then?

ZeroCorpse: So her argument is that lesbians are a protected species?

So far no one has been able to get a mated pair to reproduce in captivity. Rather like pandas in that regard, though not quite as much as you hardly ever see pandas shopping together at Ikea.

She needs to get that acne treated too.

DrPainMD: Infernalist: Smarmy rich girl-child who despises the poor and gets mad when the gay community fails to rally around her based solely on her sexual status?

Oh yes, she just reeks of 'bleed heart liberal.'

Pro-tip, darlin: Calling yourself a liberal doesn't make you a liberal.

This. You have to pretend to care about the poor while living like royalty. Do it right and the poor will love you. Pretend liberals are the best liberals.

My favorite Oprah house is her house in Hawaii, which she built after successfully lobbying to get the land stripped of its 'protected wetlands' status.

You should get an honorary doctorate in Oprah...

The GED should be sufficient.

No, but you do occasionally see them dining together there.
