I am still basking in the afterglow of the Saints' win last night, so I'm looking forward to just kicking back and enjoying the games today while we switch out the Christmas decorations for Mardi Gras decorations.

saw yesterdays games away from fark. excited to sit here today and not move for 7 hours. hope the games are half as good as yesterdays. rooting for the bungals, cause I want no part of Colts coming to foxboro next week.

My picks for today.

Both of my picks were wrong yesterday, so good news for Chargers & Niners fans, I guess.

Congrats on the first ever playoff road win in the history of the franchise.  Well deserved.

stilted: Trying to get motivated, but after watching my picks Chiefs and Philly yesterday it is very difficult.

I think those of us Eagles fans may have enjoyed watching Reid's team epic choke a bit too much yesterday.  We got paid back with that last second loss.  But... none of us here expected to win the NFC East, let alone finish above .500.

Sorry Chiefs fans.  "We have to do a better job there".  (you'll be sick of that statement soon enough after you hear it a thousand times over)

Yeppppp.  All relaxation today, love it.

And as for Flair flops, Cam Newton's been paying homage to the master all year!  lol

/hope the games today can live up to the two yesterday, both were awesome

Get ready to put your bookie in the poor house, 'cause it's time once again for my...

i1182.photobucket.com

Our first battle today has Andy Dalton and the AFC North Champion Cincinnati Bengals at home against a surprisingly-competent Phillip Rivers and the San Diego Chargers. Not including wind chill, the weather is just above freezing at 33 °F with a chance of rain. It could get messy in the "Queen City", but I expect the home team to pick up their Boobiesseason win in 24 years today.

Result: Bengals maul the Chargers.

i1182.photobucket.com

Our final match-up this weekend could be the most chaotic: Colin Kaepernick and the San Francisco 49ers vs a full-armed Aaron Rodgers and the NFC North Champion Green Bay Packers. The weather in Green Bay today is fit for neither man, nor beast, with the temp at Lambeau Field currently at 5°F, not including wind chill, and DROPPING. This game will definitely earn itself the moniker of "Ice Bowl III", and I don't see the Niners being prepared for what will be one of the coldest games in NFL history.

Result: P-P-P-PACKER-R-R-RS!

i1182.photobucket.com

Now, go cut open a tauntaun, climb inside, and stay warm today, everyone. That, or a really, really fat person. Whichever's handy. >_>

As someone who also moved out of the SF Bay area, here's a surefire way to beat Aaron Rodgers:

Bring a giant box of fresh SF-taqueria burritos on the 9er plane and drop it on the GB sidelines with his name on it.

Farkers won't play a single snap.

/ misses SF burritos, and decent food in general
// no horse in either of these, but rootin' for the Chargers for the lols

Hell yes. Guy spent his college years in Berkeley, he definitely knows the love that is a Mission-style burrito as big as your head. I'm slinging dice today instead of watching the game (trying to decide if I'll avoid spoilers or sneak score updates by slipping out to the car; the place I'll be at has shiat cell reception) but I'll definitely have a big-ass burrito from the place next door.

/Let me be the first in thread to say "Go Niners!"

I'm sticking with my picks of the Bengals to win the early game, and the Niners in the late game.

I'm rooting for Green Bay, but as long as the Capers' "Lie down and hope they trip on you" defense is on the field, I have no faith in them beating a team with their own good pressure defense and a solid running game with arguably the best oline in the game.

Bah. Stuck at work tip 3pm so i'll miss the first game. However, I will be safely inside and have the heat cranked up for the Packers/49ers! I don't see Cinci losing (which means theyr'e a lock to lose now) and i'm completely torn on the GB/49ers game. For some reason I think GB will pull it out because cold.

Yeah, pretty much. I still can't see how Capers survives this off season being a coach here, but I'm just as concerned about our special teams. They've sucked ass so much recently.

AdmirableSnackbar: Boobiesseason is my favorite season.

Hai guyz.

Behold: I've simulated the first half of today's 49ers - Packers game using the 1989 classic XOR NFL Challenge with updated rosters.  Also, to add some atmosphere, I've added Mahler's 3rd symphony as a soundtrack.

Enjoy.

Dear Princess Cigarettebutt,

I hope your saggy tits freeze off and your mustache hair breaks off.  I hope the crack of your butt freezes solid and you explode like a Golden Corral chocolate fountain of poo.  But let us have some good games today anyway.  In nicotine we pray, amen.

It didn't take long, actually, at least compared to sitting through the commercial breaks of an actual football game.  On the other hand, I did skimp a bit with the rosters and as a result I think Joe Montana replaces an injured Kaepernick somewhere near the end of the second quarter.

Always good to piss people off before the game.  Anger doesn't lead to motivation AT ALL.

Two friends of my friends (who don't know each other) are going to the Packers v 49ers game.  They drove to the game from Rochester.  One is a Packers fan, the other a 49ers fan.  Somebody is driving home sad.

I'm picking the Bengals and Packers to win.

And for my picks today, I choo-choo-choose the Bengals & Packers, although I'm a bit shaky on the Packers pick. SF is good & a well rounded team, but Aaron Rodgers is magical. Anything can happen, but I gotta lean towards the hometown cheese.
