They say art is in the eye of the beholder, but that's just farking ugly.

I can't help but wonder if there are still bodies (skeletons?) in those planes, or were they able to be recovered soon after the crashes?

Seems kind of creepy in a way.

I love the DC3. It almost looks unscathed. Tough little planes.

"Water landing," or as George Carlin would put it, "the plane crashes into the ocean."

If there were ever bodies in those planes they wouldn't last long with all the sea animals especially in such shallow water. Even the bones would be broken down after a while.

Damn...hipsters must be running really low on stuff they can call "art" that they didn't actually create.

Or in this case some mediocre pictures.

It wouldn't be that hard to build P-38s. No reason one of those crazy billionaires couldn't knock out a few dozen, just for racing. The design is circa 1940, a few minor tweaks like fuel injection and better hydraulics, and we're looking at a farking kick ass ride for the cost of a Bugatti.

This sort of thing became something of a fad on Dagobah a long time ago. I understand it got written off as an imitation craze.

So the last P-38 crashed in 1940? Whatever that caption was trying to say, it didn't do a very good job of it.

I preferred when there was a flotation device under the seat instead of watercolors.

Man, don't tell the plane nuts in the thread with the DC-3 flying low about the one that got sunk just to shoot a movie.  They'll go to tears.

Is there a shortage of DC-3's?

...The B-29 is kinda interesting - the second pic shows stickers known as 'zaps' all over it; apparently it's a tradition for pilots visiting Eielson to get out to the plane and leave their mark.

No, not until you run out of 'em.
