Bob The Nob: "Are you the Governor?"

"No, I'm just a lowly little cook."

"...a cook? Oh my G-d, we're gonna die!"

casual disregard: Deathfrogg: "Christian"? Check.

Not really sure what you mean by "Christian" because he is an avowed Buddhist. There's also this bizarre gem: From the Wikipedia: "In February 1997, lama Penor Rinpoche from Palyul monastery announced that Seagal was a tulku, and specifically the reincarnation of Chungdrag Dorje, a 17th-century terton (treasure revealer) of the Nyingma, the oldest sect of Tibetan Buddhism."

As a bonus for the Family Values crowd, he married a woman in Japan and had two kids with her, both apparently are actors/models. He left his family in Japan to return to work in the USA. He met one actress and married her BEFORE his divorce to his Japanese wife was finalized. Then, while married to the second wife, he met another actress and had a child with her out of wedlock. When the second wife found out, the marriage was annulled. Then he married the third lady with whom he had the affair and who gave him his third child. That marriage died when it was found he was having an affair with another woman with whom he fathered another child. He did not marry the home-wrecker this time, however, and instead married yet another woman who he met when she was acting as his interpreter while in Mongolia. He has apparently been faithful to her, though there have been allegations and lawsuits of sexual harassment from people who worked on his projects throughout his career. If nothing else, he is strongly fertile as he wound up with 7 children and 2 grandchildren so far.

Since Family Values voters don't actually care about family values, such as respecting the institution of marriage and not committing adultery, none of that would matter to them. He's a shoe-in! They may take exception with the Buddhist thing, but he's Tough On Crime, so it counterbalances. But he's also worked with PETA, so that might turn a few heads....if anyone notices. Which they won't.

Don't forget he also made this movie.

upload.wikimedia.org

They may not chastise him for working with PETA, but you'll be damned sure they'll be against him for creating a movie that portrays him fighting to stop an oil company that has legal authority to exploit Alaska's natural resources. Of course he fought them by blowing up the oil station (instead of disabling the pumps or something like that), putting pollutants back into the environment, no matter what hand waving explanation the movie put in to show that 'Forrest Taft' was doing the "Right thing." Anyone who makes a movie that shows someone fighting against our holy "Job Creators" from doing whatever they want in the name of profits, is no person for public office in the Republican Teahadists' eyes, I guarantee you that.

I take it that the charges of keeping Asian and Slavic sex slaves in his basement didn't stick?  Oh wait, he has senior cops as friends.

See the late David Rakoff's essay about this bloated shiat.

Charges were dropped.

Not really sure what you're getting at with Rakoff. Rakoff was a pillow-biter/Salon illiberal retard and somehow that made him an authority on anything?

I couldn't meh any harder.

Not gay here.  Not homophobic either.  Way to go ad hominem on a thread about political suitability.  Ignored.

If he gets some daily hands-on action beating the shiat out of illegal border crossers and drug smugglers, I'm all for it.

Lalala, I can't hear you.  Ignore away, Mr. Ad Homonem.  Steven Seagal sheds no tears over your wussy retreat.

The only reason all these actors run for office is because they can AFFORD TO.  That's the defining feature of our political class, they can all AFFORD to run for office.  It doesn't matter if they are crazy idiots who cry after sex.  They have the money and the ego and that's all it takes.

And, because we believe that the rich deserve to be rich because they're better than the poor, thanks to the combination of crass materialism and prosperity gospel in America, we'll still vote for them.

Two-faced race-card darling? Sure!
Borderline sociopathic Mormon? Sure!
Tiny crazed libertarian muppet? Sure!

I'm seconding the two watch thing.  Makes no sense at all.  If they do not agree, what can you do?  MUST wear three watches so you can tell which one is wrong!!!
