I assume it was related to on-street parking.

TFA leaves us hanging!

Was it
a) parking in a spot that the other guy shoveled out?
b) shoveling snow into the other guy's driveway?
c) refusing to shovel the sidewalk?
d) refusing to help shovel a common driveway or entryway?

ROFL. Came to say this!

/moved to a state that gets fried in summer, but plan to die without ever holding a snow shovel again, and quite happy about that.

Ya know, northerners really seem to lose their shiat over a little bit of snow.

Lived in Philly for 7 years. You DO NOT own the parking spaces on the street. People think they own them for a week or more if they shoveled it out. These are assholes. I would throw out your orange parking cone. There are more cars with permits than spaces.

When temperatures get this high up North, tempers flare.

I love how when someone goes inside their own home and locks the doors, all of a sudden they've 'barricaded' themselves.

I collect them in the back yard.

But no, areas that have permit parking rarely have more cars than spaces (Fairmount might be the exception).  The problem is people who have their car registered in Jersey or the suburbs don't want permit parking on their block.

It's slowly becoming more and more common even here in South Philly.

Shoveling snow is serious business.

/recalls reading a a blog a few years ago where someone listened to our local police scanner and hearing an account about a fight over a shoveled out parking space that involved someone pulling out a machete.

Give him a medal, I guess.

If I had my way, getting your gun when it snowed would be SOP.

I have this idea for a heat ray that would be fun to cut through snow with.

And you bastards that dont shovel out a space can drive your car back to the parking garage and pay more money instead of parking so you dont have to shovel, then parking for the week in a shoveled spot.

You bust your ass moving a thousand or more pounds of snow over a couple of hours only to have some vulture swoop in on your labors as soon as you're forced to make a trip somewhere.

I can understand how this sort of thing could lead to violence.

I dont condone it, but I understand.

After you take the cones, do you shovel your walkways onto the spot?  I am just trying to get a feel for how far you go to piss folks off.  We could be reading about you one day.

why not biatch at your government for issuing out more permits than spaces, rather than taking it out on your fellow man who cleared a spot?

If it was the local football team and they sold 75000 tickets for 50,000 seats, you would sue them.

I wonder why people dont make a few dollars to sit in a chair in that spot.   I'd pay a kid 10 bux to hold my spot while I went to the store.

I like that idea! Put down cones/lawnchairs/whatever after leaving a thin layer of snow over the spot with spike strips buried under the snow. Remove before self parking, or arsehole who moves the cones loses their tires.

After living there for work for a little while and returning to where they seem to migrate, I've come to the conclusion that those who live in the south are exiles, and not refugees.
