Mugato: So people live in Minnesota because....?
ohdoublereally: More evidence of global warming!
LineNoise: Honest question: do you really dress differently for -30 then you do -10? I mean I'm sure there is a lower limit where you need to bust out a space suit or something, but it seems to me that if someone was good to go at 0 degrees, they would be set for -30 as well.
TinyFist: I wanted to take my Christmas lights down today, but it's like 50 degrees outside today.F*ck that, I'm not going out there... Brrrrr.....

I can ski pretty comfortably in my usual gear down to about 7 degrees. Went skiing once when it was -17, with heavier gear/more layers and absolutely froze my ass off. Ever have snot freeze inside your nose? Or tears freeze on your lashes? Suckitude. I could take 0 deg Ok, but -30? Aw hell no. At -30, you better not have one square inch of skin showing (frostbite), and if you're out for a while I expect goggles would be a requirement. At 0? Just bundle up.
deanis: Transportation is the main concern in these temps. My company and others like it are all closing for this reason. There is no vehicle made for -30F. Fark this.
Tyee: So? Suck it up. When I was a kid we wished it was this warm.
