Having watched the Seahawks flail about for many a long year.. it's a rather strange sensation having so many people actively hating them. There have been decades where they were lucky to get noticed.

Ed Hoculii seems to be a good ref but he has a "look" with the tight shirt and guns that no other ref has.  Not that he is a bad ref by any means, but he has rock star type marketing on his side.  I always like to watch games by Mike Carey's team which seems very underrated when you think about how much attention EdHoc gets.  Carey's crew doesnt seem to make any mistakes and he has as good or better TV presence as Ed. The one black guy with the really thick southern accent seems to decent on the field as well but his TV presence is horrible.

harleyquinnical: jaylectricity: Joe_diGriz: lack of warmth: Zebras do far more damage to Lions every year, but that is okay, this little call should be disputed forever.

I'm pretty sure the Lions do far more damage to themselves than the Zebras ever could.

Is that your mane argument?

Nay. They just hoof it halfheartedly. As for the refs, are we to stripe them of their duties?

No, but people keep braying over decisions which aren't always so black-and-white.

/Yes, I know, I'm horrid at this.

IAmRight: Shame Us: FWIW, all 3 had legitimate gripes and in KC's situation a (inconsequential) win was taken from them, having a direct effect on the AFC playoff picture.

But making Pittsburgh fans complain about refereeing warmed all our hearts. As well as made us laugh into near unconsciousness.

As a Steelers fan, we got what we deserved. The call sucked, but that wasn't why the Steelers didn't make it into the playoffs. As I said to Seattle fans during their Superb Owl loss to Pittsburgh, better teams overcome bad calls and better teams don't let other influence the outcome.

No tears here or from all of the Steelers fans I know.

So sorry to disappoint you.

And it's still the stupidest argument ever. I'm going to sell you a boxing match, but before the match, I'm going to tie one boxer's arm behind his back. I mean hey, if the guy's so great, he should still be able to knock the other guy out.

/yeah, he COULD but the objection is that it's not a fair fight. All we want to see is a fair fight. Second-best is when the guy who's fighting all the handicapped boxers, then gloating about it gets HIS hand tied behind his back and knocked out.

It's not "the stupidest argument ever". I don't think he's saying blown calls are irrelevant, but they're just another factor of the game. If a bad call was the only farkup and/or was completely over-the-top boneheaded, then you can say it determined the game. But fans who tend to blame lost games on bad calls also tend to overlook their own team's farkups, as if the rest of the team did nothing to seal its own fate. You never hear the following from those fans...

"If the QB hadn't thrown that pick-six in the first quarter, we would have won the game."
"If that cornerback hadn't been called for PI at the one yard line, we would have won the game."
"If our team hadn't been penalized 11 times for 165 yards, we would have won the game."

But of course it's never those things, it's always the ref's (or kicker's) fault.

In a game where both teams played awful, when a ref crew swings it based on several calls, yeah, you can be pissed about it.

Yeah, we did plenty wrong. But the other team played far, far worse.

That is not nice... First time since 1999 that neither the Steelers nor the Ravens made the playoffs. It's not right!

Not me. I've hated the Seahawks ever since they joined the NFC West, and became a foe of my Rams. Hell, I still hate Atlanta, just because they used to be in the NFC West!

It's going to be fun watching the Fail-Niners and Seachickens lose in the playoffs! Go [Insert teams playing SEA or SF]!

Or...

It could be that Seahawk fans are the whinest fan base of them all.  They flip out every time a call goes against them (it's a conspiracy!!), they claim  the NFL deliberately schedules against them, and let's not even bring up that time they got lucky and made it to the Super Bowl and it wasn't handed to them on a silver platter.  And, of course,  you're the worst kind of hater if you happen to mention how many Seahawk players have been suspended for PED/drug use during the last few years.

In other words, the whiny, attacking fans of a cheating team cause other fans not to like their team.  Guys, bad calls go against all teams, move the team to Okalahoma City if you want a better schedule, stop obsessing about the past, and accept the fact that Seahawk players use more "Adderall" than anyone else.

Have fun!!

The eye incident happened in 1999, and Orlando Brown played for the Ravens from 2003-2006, so no.

Triplette's flag still busted his eye all up and kept him out of the league for years.

But you said it ended his career, and that didn't happen. It was bad, but there's no reason to make things up to make it seem worse.

Trotting out jokes like that?  You're  better than you think.

Baelz: Triplette must have dirt on someone. How the hell could this happen? He was atrocious this year.

He did an okay job during the Hawks/Rams game.  It wasn't perfect as an ejection should have happened in the first half rather than the second and to someone actually causing problems rather than the guy accidentally gesturing his hands that stuck a hat from an officials head (I understand there is zero tolerance for striking a ref like that, but still).  The reason for those personal fouls against the Rams: they were baiting the Hawks and the Hawks didn't bite.

I liked how the announcers cried hard because the Rams' player had his helmet popped off by Lynch and Lynch kept stiff-arming him. They were so damn outraged...what's Lynch supposed to do, just let the guy tackle him then? You want to keep playing with your helmet off, you get everything that comes to you, including stiff-arms to your face. Buckle your damn chin strap up next time if you don't like it.

There has been some talk that the ejection was not actually for the knocking the hat off but for shoving an official's arm down after that. IDK if any of that stuff is/has been made public, but I've seen it floated as a possibility.

Also, he got the Chargers-Bengals game because it's not like anyone's going to be making an effort to watch that game anyway.

Honestly if you're out there going into the referee huddles and using your hands to simulate yapping at the refs, you should GTFO anyway. I hate continually having to play the Rams at the end of the season, especially when the main goal is making sure everyone stays healthy. Cortland Finnegan is probably one of their cleanest players. Did enjoy watching Tate beat 'em down all day though, no matter how often they tried to light him up or knock him out.
