I would say Canada's shorts can go fark itself, but what with the domestic spying, government-sanctioned rape of the economy, failing health care system, crumbling infrastructure, and open corporate ownership of your legislature, I'd say you've got it covered.

Good riddance.

This just proves that Global Warming is so widespread that it even covers Mars now.

I lived in edmonton for a few years. My first winter out there 2004/2005 we had a cold snap where it was averaged -40 for two weeks. My 7 yr old didn't go to school for that period of time because my car wouldn't start and it was way too far to walk

Yeah, but it's a dry cold.

But seriously, the sunniest place in Canada or the US is Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. I would still sooner live in Vancouver, BC, where it rains every day that it doesn't snow. I might even choose the other Vancouver over Saskatoon. It sounds like a spittoon or something. Saskatoon berries are good though. I had some with a Screech cake on Canada Day once.

Screech is Newfoundland rum, made by sloshing barrels of Caribbean rum. A second vintage, so to speak.

Those Martian bastards with their moderate weather think they're soooooo much better than everyone else eh?

2014-01-02 12:08:31 PM
So what you're saying is that there's a very real possibility that there are hockey teams on mars?

No, you are doing it terribly and you know it. I remember a time when trolling was a noble art, we took pride in our high quality ass-hattery. Nowadays every douche canoe with a SMRTphone thinks they can get in it for teh lulz. Shame, sir. Shame.

On topic... Everyone in Canada knows Winnipeg is one of the coldest places in the universe, so Mars being warmer doesn't shock us.

OK, so much for the reported *highs*.  Now compare the relative *Low* temperatures for the same dates.

SOLAR SYSTEM WARMING! OH, NOES!!!!!!

That is all well and good but compare the LOW temps that day.

At that temperature it doesn't need to be dead to have frozen balls.

above zero C here in Northern BC!   The mountains are nuts this year. A weak layer just above the ground. slabs 6 feet - 10 feet on top of the weak layer. lots of huge slides.

No it isn't. That's swish. Screech is a brand name of rum.  Before that is was just slang for hard liquor in many varied forms.

It up to the rich to decide if global warming exists or not. If people* with money say its not happening then its not happening.

Except they don't play hockey on Mars.  Yet.

I seriously don't know how anyone can cope with cold like that.  I can barely stand it when it's in the teens.  My cars hate it, and my heating bill hates it.

Heck, my first year in college we had a cold spell in Ohio where it would be about that cold for a week or so ('98).  It was so cold the physics dept. considered holding some superconductor labs outside to save money.

So we should send Canadians to Mars?  Because they'll already be suited to the weather?

That may be true, Mars is also on average 78 million miles further from the sun then Earf.

2014-01-02 12:42:08 PM
It may be only -29C on Mars, but the surface is also being flooded with ~11 mSv/year of cosmic radiation alone.

/EPA recommended limit for one year of radiation exposure is 1 mSv from all sources.

We're going to get colder than that this weekend.  I'm really not sure why this is making the news.  It IS winter.

A bit chilly at 60* here in Florida, today. Wet weather makes it seem cooler than it really is. None the less, I did wear a light coat to work today.

The whole universe is getting colder.
