10 races and 7 GOP incumbents if I read the article correctly.  Seems likely the DNC makes gains based on that fact alone.

i cannot believe that wisconsin will reelect walker.

Thanks to outside money, it's almost assured that Walker will get re-elected.  If good ol' Dent-head can survive the recall election, then he'll survive the general.  And Wisconsin will drop even more in their rankings...

not necessarily, though possibly.

here, we had a mayor who survived a recall but was creamed in the subsequent general. mainly because a lot of people were morally opposed to the idea of a recall, figuring he should be given the benefit of a full term. i wonder how many wisconsinites voted against recalling walker for the same reason.

though, sadly, you're probably right about his winning reelection.

I love how the article seems to say that Rick Scott will get all the Republican votes... I know many registered Republicans that hate him with a passion.

I just was back there over the holidays. They love him. When shown that he will eliminate state income tax for a statewide 13.8%sales tax on everything (right now WI doesn't tax groceries) they dont see a problem with it because "I'm getting that money back from no income tax!" Even when explaining your new car will cost X times more they still don't get it. Explain to them how WI wants toll roads from IL into WI they are fine because its "FIBS paying the tolls" I explained to some that people in WI do work in IL and they said, well maybe this will get them to find work in WI.

Snyder in MI will have a tougher battle than portrayed by the article. He is not popular with Teaparty for making some sane decisions (vetoing an abortion bill, that then they pushed through petition signatures, among others). He has also made some enemies with the union for pushing the right-to-work bill. To be fair, unions were not gonna vote for him anyway, but now they are all fired up.

He is one of the few republicans I can tolerate. But I'd still feel safer here with a Dem there.

And as an added bonus, Kasich's going to have a primary challenge.

My penis and I will vote for Wendy Davis in absentia.

13.8% on food too? What an asshole. The poor will have to eat their bootstraps to survive.

Unfortunately, I expect those Florida Republicans to hate whoever emerges from the Democratic primaries with  two passions. Advantage: Volderpmort.

He's hoping people from Iowa, MN, IL still come to WI on the toll roads to buy overpriced groceries. I'd be extremely pissed if I were a car dealer/real estate company. Who the hell is going to buy a car with a 13+% sales tax added to it. Mind you most counties in the state already have a .5 added on tax for things like road improvements, stadium improvements, etc. Rough math guess is your $30000 new truck will have 4050 in sales tax added on. Christ, even Illinois thinks that's bad for business

"PPP's new Florida poll finds...basically the same thing as the last one six months ago. Charlie Crist leads Rick Scott by a 12 point margin, 50/38. He has a substantial advantage because he leads by 24 points with independents at 57/33, and because he wins over 21% of the Republican vote while losing just 17% of Democrats to Scott. "

The question for FL republicans is what is the greater evil...."Batboy" Scott or Crist the Turncoat. I think TFA is trying to say that switching parties is an unforgivable sin.

Me, I'm voting for Crist because Scott is an unforgivable sin.

That sounds reassuring. I would love to stand corrected.

Then again, all the polling numbers tell me is that, from the data they've collected, Crist would win  in a fair fight. We haven't yet seen the rollout of the Republican Dirty Election Tricks Campaign, 2014 Edition. And I don't have enough faith in voters in general, much less the one that elected Scott in the first place.

I'm in Colorado, what to do when you hate Gov, Hickenlooper and so far all the (R)'s who have announced to be running.

/I just may write in Voldemort rather than attempting to vote for the less stinkiest turd in the race.
//It'll be interesting to say the least to see how much the new gun laws he signed will affect the race.

Wendy Davis is scaring the GOP enough to get the Koch brothers involved which is sort of a good news bad news situation.

I'm voting for Scott because Crist seems to be a smarmy, opportunistic douchebag with no ideological core.  And people like that are more concerned about themselves rather than their constituency.

I couldn't care less about switching parties... if you fundamentally believe that your current party does not represent your views any longer (Jeffords, Lieberman, Barr, etc.)

You do realize that Crist is a former governor of FL, right?

Scott is a sleaze bag. Plain and simple. Florida needs a change. Starting with him.

Crist certainly didn't run Florida badly at all, and that was under the GOP banner. Scott on the other hand has run Florida into the farking ground.

I read the headline and took "Son of Brawny" as referring to Walker. Isn't the Brawny brand owned by the Koch brothers?
