The link at the bottom about 10 people on bad album covers is better.

/Ken and Joyce included

They should do CD labels next and start with the one under this cover:

The original title for ELP's fifth album, Whip Some Skull On Ya, was a slang term for oral sex.

That may be the worst slang for oral sex I've ever heard.

Well, you should have seen the cover they *wanted* to do! It wasn't a glove, believe me.

This is why I prefer vinyl.  I don't pretend that it has better audio, but it is a better overall experience sitting down with an album than dialing something up on an mp3 player.  Bonus if it comes with additional art inside the package.

2014-01-02 10:48:55 AM
I've fapped to at least four of them.

2014-01-02 11:04:37 AM

Wellon Dowd: I've fapped to at least four of them.

That reminds me... No Whipped Cream and Other Delights from Herb Alpert?

If someone at a bar wanted to bet on something so stupid, I'd go to another bar.

I hope it wasn't that Houses of the Holy one.

2014-01-02 11:21:15 AM
Do ppl still so bar bets?   We used to before we could easily look up everything in the world in less than 2 min on our phone, but that was a long time ago. Well 2003, but still.

An even better list was the one investigating the 10 Worst Album Covers, linked on that page. You learn that Heino has sold 50 million albums.

Subby goes to annoying bars.

"You know, the weather was actually really shiatty when they shot the cover for Houses of the Holy"

"Yeah...cool...I need to take a piss, brb..."

A far more interesting list (NSFW)

/the Blind Faith girl is actually the younger sister of the model the photographer originally wanted
//she wanted a pony as payment

He's #5

The album wasn't originally available in record stores; he carried them in his car and fans had to purchase them directly from Ken after his shows

Jazz.  Now if you said 22 Classic Albums, that would be top 5.

Worst bar bet ever.

I bet you the dollar in Nirvana's  Nevermind symbolized our natural desire to accumulate material possessions.

No way, the dollar was a manifestation of Kurt's yearning for more support from his mom.

What a great article!!!

Is what i would be saying if they had indeed put out a great article. All of those album covers have stories, and they utterly failed to convey ANY of those stories. Jesus, take Nevermind, for example, here's the TL:DR version: 'We took pictures of babies, Kurt said "fishook".'

MentalFloss is really starting to seem like Cracked.com

My favorite all time comic. And he NAILED that parody perfectly.

Clash City Farker: [www.kesterbrewin.com image 500x494]

The place I used to work printed tradeshow materials(Banners, walls, etc), and one of our Project Managers got a TON of these Jesus bands. They are still just this bad, The worst was what we could only presume to be a family, all dressed up as an airline crew. Dad was the pilot, mom was the head stew, Little Timmy was the copilot, and Susie was the stewardess... The dad seemed to be leering in all of the pics, whether it was with his daughter or his wife. Creepiest pedo/incest vibe I have EVER gotten.

Fireproof: Albums from 2002 are classic rock now?

I don't think subby was going for 'classic rock' album covers, I think it was "classic" album covers in the rock genre...

Not sure what was up with that list, but by the time I was able to finally get through to the bottom, they pretty much were all 'classic rock'...
