So the article says that, despite massively outnumbering liberals, liberals swarm into GOP primaries and outvote conservatives to get RINOs, so the GOP should SPLIT their vote and vote in Democratic primaries?

Yes, that must be it...

So, I could be last nights bad champagne talking, but I read all of that derp, and the guy basically thinks that conservatives should focus on getting a conservative democrat nominated for president because he doesn't want "Mrs. William Jefferson Clinton" to be president.

So you know, fantasy land.

Exactly, completely ignoring the conservative democrat currently occupying the whitehouse.

No. I voted in the republican primary and helped Newt carry SC. I was trying to help the derp squad get the conservative they want so badly.

FTFA: the last strong and unapologetic conservative to win the Republican nomination was thirty years ago -- when President Reagan was re-nominated by his party in 1984.

Ah yes, I remember getting my Trotskyite cohorts together in 1988 for the secret plot to nominate Reagan's hand-picked successor, his own Vice President and former head of the CIA.

When I lived in MI I voted in the 2008 Republican Primary because the Greens had nominated Cynthia ""9/11 Truther" McKinney (no freaking way) and the Democratic Party told everyone their primary votes weren't going to count anyway. I voted for Mittens.

fta Beyond that, every primary and every caucus state must allow those voters who even nominally register as a Democrat to participate in the delegate selection process.

Is that like being a little pregnant?

I voted Santorum for the lulz in the 2012 primary.  His campaign implosion would have made Mitt's campaigning ability look downright excellent.

I really didn't think many people voted in the opposite primary, at least until the last few elections when conservative AM talkers we're encouraging their listeners to do so. Who knew that the filthy Dems had been doing so in a concerted effort for decades?

Last year one of the workplace teabaggers got mad at me for voting in the Republican primary.  Best part?  He still has his "Proud participant: Operation Chaos" bumper sticker.  Of course, when he did it it was because Murika and Freedumz, but when I did it it was because soshulizm and Hilter.

Until the derp squad gets the derper they want, they'll keep derpling down.  I hope 2016 we see a Santorum/Cruz or Jindal/Bachmann level candidate from the GOP.  Maybe the mouthbreathers will finally wake up and realize their problem isn't that they need to turn harder to the right.....  Or maybe they'll decide Santorum/Cruz/Jindal/Bachmann and their like are really liberals, and need to be primaried from the right.  There's no predicting crazy.

The GOP left me behind in the 1980's.  I haven't gone anywhere.  It's the GOP that's traveled into Herpland.  I can't go there.

I mean, you'd think there has to be a point where even the teabaggers realize "OK, maybe we should stop running nutbars for office", but there doesn't appear to be.  The problem is always that they just didn't believe hard enoug in the True Cause.

Your model is the Virginia governor's race this year. Ken Cuccinelli could not by any stretch of the imagination be considered a RINO - the Tea Partiers blamed his loss to Terry McAuliffe on "downplaying" his strong conservative credentials.

No matter how conservative they've been in the past, they can always be accused of not running on them strongly enough.

They are not nut bars in the eyes of the teabaggers. They are strong Christians that will take the country back to something imaginary that never was.

He's absolutely correct. If all those imaginary things happen and all those imaginary facts and statistics he made up were true, the Republicans are a shoo-in for the White House in 2016. I disagree with his prediction that Hillary will be the candidate, but hey, who am I to argue? The guy's obviously on a roll and there's no use proposing alternate unlikely imaginary scenarios to his unlikely imaginary scenario (what if the Rapture comes before the next election? What if Jesus runs as a Democrat? Hmm, smart guy?)  That said, I am a registered Republican and I generally make a point of voting for the worst possible candidate in the primaries so the Democrats will have an easier time of it. I just couldn't bring myself to vote for Newt in 2012 but in 2008 I voted for Mike Huckabee. I called my group "Jew for Huckabee" on the assumption there were no other Jews, in Massachusetts or elsewhere, who would ever possibly vote for Huckabee.

I've been saying for some time that that would be the best way for the "establishment" GOP to rein in the morons.  They want conservative?  Fine, give 'em conservative.  Run Palin/Cruz for president in 2016, and see what happens.

Granted, I doubt any tea partiers would believe in the outcome of such an experiment anyway....
