This is the second time a Liverpool loanee has had a hand in busting my banker. First time was Borini vs Newcastle, now Assaidi vs Everton.

+75 for the day. Insurance still to come on the late game.

Not good to lose at West Brom.

Time for a quick lunch before Man Utd vs. Spurs. This game could be crucial for Europa League places at the end of the season.

Princip's Sandwich: I feel like changing my United win pred to a Spurs win. Sure, Spurs can't seem to score consistently, but it's Moyes in Old Trafford. So conflicted.

I've got a 2-1 United win.  United hasn't been good, but they're at OT.  Spurs have been improving, but...Spurs.  I have no idea what to do.

Utd have been on a good run lately and they have Rooney back. I like but don't love Moyes' team selection today -- at least Young isn't starting.

Also, Howard Webb is the ref today, for those that believe the scurrilous slanders about his partiality.

I have this as 2-2, but I could also see a 2-1 United win. Hmmmmmmm

Well fark...I fell asleep and missed the Liverpool match

Stuck with 2-2. So let me congratulate United on a blowout win

2014-01-01 12:34:44 PM
The following is likely my only post in this thread until I can see match highlights later:

I was hoping to get up in time to watch Liverpool- Hull City, but the jackasses next door decided to party until 3am and then some dipshiat shot their damn gun in to the air about 20 times from not that far away at 3:15. So I couldn't get to sleep until about 4am when the match was kicking off at 8am. Sleep is far more important than a match I knew we would win.

And Lord Jubjub, thanks for reposting my stuff from the weekend thread. I appreciate it.

YEah, I stuck with a 2-1 United win.  However I'll gladly give up 10 points for a draw/Spur victory.

United looking pretty dominant to start the game.

2014-01-01 12:38:22 PM
Wow, can't believe Webb didn't call that

+135 on the week I believe.

BENDTNER!

LOL Everton!

There, now I'm caught up

Despite the scoreline United looks like the better team by a fair stretch.

This is starting to look like one of those games where Utd dominate possession without getting the ball into the box nearly enough... and then end up losing to a sloppy goal.

Nonetheless, Tottenham should have the lead.

That's a real risk, Spurs are the kings of the sloppy goal

Don't worry.  Howard will come through for United

Valencia is having a good game, but he looks so much more dangerous when he has Fabio overlapping with him.

They've looked good rampaging down the right

They have. The difference that Fabio makes is that he runs on beyond Valencia and either drags a defender with him, allowing Valencia to cut inside, or becomes an option to receive the ball himself. By contrast, Smalling tends to hang back behind Valencia, offering only the inside-back pass, so Valencia has far fewer options when running at or past the full back.

Despite looking in control, Utd really haven't troubled the Spurs 'keeper yet, have they?

And Ade puts Spurs ahead.

ADE!

THAT was a thing of beauty,

Whelp...

ADE!

/why didnt AVB play him more?

Eriksen is quickly becoming my favorite Spurs player. That cross was gorgeous.

Ade can be really lazy and I think that AVB wanted a disciplined defensive unit. Neither of those words apply to Adebayor, but he can create beautiful goals sometimes.

Evra was at fault. Again.

Soldado back in his EPL pose I see. He's not had a good season.

2014-01-01 01:11:05 PM
Soldado's missing too many of those

When Ade's brother died, Ade went back home for the funeral. Ade took his time coming back.

During the African Cup, Togo was bounced early but Ade stayed and partied.

AVB never forgave him for either.

Point. Always seems like he's got two 'forms': really on, or really, really off.

Damn Rooney. At least try to be subtle.

2014-01-01 01:13:11 PM
Nice tackle, Rooney.  But this isn't American Football.

2014-01-01 01:14:25 PM
I could use an Evra to Januzaj goal or two

2014-01-01 01:19:58 PM
Man United looked good to start the game, but the Spurs could easily be leading by more than a goal.

2014-01-01 01:26:16 PM
Could go either way and the scoreline kind of reflects that.  Hoping United get at least one goal in the second half.

2014-01-01 01:45:08 PM
I just don 't see where a Utd goal is going to come from.

Well Howard's contract must have just been with Fergie and not with ManU.

/Webb not having the best two weeks

If Chicharito scores, tomorrow's sports news are going to suck, as my family watches Univision. They sing this terrible chant every time he does something notable.

I thought he got the non-call perfectly just now. Unless you're saying you think Welbeck deserved a yellow for simulation and Webb missed it

I thought there had to be a call there one way or the other.
