Haha, Oscar breaks clean on the Southampton keeper, looks like the keeper took him out but he's booked for simulation. Replay confirms that the ref's call was correct. If he hadn't dove, Oscar would have scored.

2014-01-01 11:19:07 AM
Southampton playing pretty well. Thanks to BT I'm actually watching rather than listening for a change.

2014-01-01 11:20:03 AM
Captain Fantastic back ahead of schedule!

2014-01-01 11:20:08 AM
Well, Oscar seems to have made up for that.

I love it when players spurn a begging goal chance for a dive. It's just comical.

Langston: Torres now tied with the top scorers of 2014

For the last time of the season.

2014-01-01 11:23:14 AM
Why do professional soccer players continue to believe that "I got the ball!" excuses any foul?

2014-01-01 11:25:46 AM
Good thing I switched my banker from Newcastle at the last minute to...................Everton.
Whoops.

2014-01-01 11:26:07 AM
Dammit Everton, stop spurning chances.

Stevie looking tired 8 minutes in.  Think he's going to need some more time.

I still remember when I was scared every time Real faced Atletico with him in that squad. How much that man has changed... The only semblance of the old Torres I see is when he plays for Spain on occasion.

Nice shot from Willian

2014-01-01 11:33:52 AM
Oh what the hell. I think predictor ignored my Chelsea-Southampton pred. Goddammit.

I've never seen confidence leave a player so thoroughly.

Two knee surgeries in a year on your preferred leg will do that to you.

Arsenal is awful today.

And at an age where he should be in his prime. I'd understand if he was in his 30s, since that's when players start to dip.

Atletico midfielder Koke 'wants to be like Torres.' Be careful about what you wish for.

Everton just brought on Jelavic to save them.
♫There goes my banker♫

I'll give dip in form to the surgeries, that's fair. But his form didn't just dip, it cratered and stayed awful long after his surgeries.

2014-01-01 11:41:03 AM
Everton are just cursed today. So many good touches, good moves, but they fall apart at the crucial moment.

2014-01-01 11:41:59 AM
No diving this time.  Oscar puts it in the net.

Ronaldo's leg imploded for Inter, yet he stayed as one of the world's best despite it.

Come on, you Gunners. The goal is right there. Just put the ball into the net. Stop teasing it.

Knee rather.

So both of my choices for banker this week are set to lose. That makes me feel a bit better about it I guess.

2014-01-01 11:46:48 AM
Everton can't get a single ball to bounce their way.  So unlucky.

Thank you, Bendtner!

/feels weird saying that

This is one of those days.

Penalty to Everton!

Eurosport has just named Bendtner the White Pele.

Can't watch the games right now, but saying a small prayer to the best there ever was for that late goal.

2014-01-01 11:49:35 AM
Theo!

2014-01-01 11:49:48 AM
With Everton's luck today, the ball will hit a hole and bounce straight up.

OK, Everton, it appears you will keep ahold of fifth place for another week.

2014-01-01 11:52:19 AM
I want to believe, Arsenal. 2 goals in the last 3 minutes to avoid dropping points.

2014-01-01 11:52:32 AM
Never thought I'd say this, but I need one more from you Everton.

2014-01-01 11:52:43 AM
Back to 3 pts collected and winning ways.  Looks like Everton is dropping points too.  Tottentham and/or ManU set to drop points.  Not a bad way to start 2014 for the Reds!

I've seen it happen to golfers, snooker players, even a darts player -- but never a soccer player. And there have been times when Torres definitely looks like he has the yips in front of goal.

And not going to happen. Banker busted.

I feel like changing my United win pred to a Spurs win. Sure, Spurs can't seem to score consistently, but it's Moyes in Old Trafford. So conflicted.

+85 so far today.  Thanks for nothing Newcastle, Sunderland and Everton!
