UK social workers can choke on a bag of spotted dick.

FTFA:  One child had a BMI measurement of 35, which for a six-foot man would mean weighing 19st.

But I've been assured by farkers that that means nothing.  Kid was probably just incredibly muscular.  Why do these social workers hate bodybuilders?

Most people can. Hence the torture charges.

Ex-Chief Medical Officer Sir Liam Donaldson warned in 2006 that health chiefs would look at removing children from their families if they became super-sized, risking their health.

They told you years ago that they were going to do this. Did you listen? No. Then why the outrage now?

Imagine if all that British food was served by a French waiter. Absolute Hell & child abuse. Make it French food with a British waiter? Now, that would be heaven.

GOOD.

Kids are not a right or a property.

Use that as an excuse to raise a generation of soldiers, scientists and mandarins in boarding schools, so healthy, educated and proud that plebian kids wish they could be taken from their parents too.

Fano: Will they be sent to live with foster mothers in gingerbread houses in the Black Forest?

A fat kid would eat a gingerbread house right down to its fudge foundation.

A house of celery stalks and carrot sticks is more likely.

Teach the parents how to cook healthy meals instead. All this approach does is give fat people an excuse to sue the government.

The US is, on average, about 10 years behind England in terms of stripping rights from citizens.

My point is that people who can't say no to a child probably don't listen to a Doctor telling them that it's a bad idea to do so. There is (to my knowledge) no medicine that cures stupid.

perhaps it was meant as a spectrum.
every thing from soda sizes and light bulbs to storing your each and every move on disk so they can look at it later.

Anyway, I recently discovered that among those that had a preference, 99 out of 100 people surveyed said they preferred incandescent bulbs to CFLs when inserted rectally by the NM police.
That is, as long as the bulbs were off.
turn them on and that ratio inverts.
I think that we can conclude from this that Jerry is a freaking weirdo.

I actually agree with Kit Fister. The US and UK are pretty even on that regard. Just one is overly strict with gun ownership. The other is overly strict with Kinder egg ownership.

It's worth remembering that the Daily Express has been described as 'The paramilitary wing of the Daily Mail' and is one of   the most frothingly mad, fear and hate filled rags on the planet. It also sees it as its mission to destroy anything that might relate to socialism, including health care, the BBC, and, to be on the safe side, the right to breathe free air.

tl;dr; Don't trust the wretched POS on anything

The clue might be in the sentence - "A social worker said: "Only in extreme cases would we take a child into care just because of their weight as we would seek to work with the family to improve their eating habits." "

I.e. it's temporary, only done in the most extreme cases and the family will get their kid back when they learn to feed him / her appropriately. I really see no problem with this.

The problem isn't it being used in those extreme circumstances. I perfectly understand that. But since when have you been able to give the government additional authority and not have the abuse it in some way eventually?

Not just about food.  Food's the symptom of a mental/emotional issue.

Most people just give up after being depressed a while.  I know I've been on a bender the past few weeks (I'll get over it) and have gained six pounds.  I come up for air (figuratively) once in a while and try to stop myself but then I just can't muster up the concern due to depression.  I'll lose it again but I have to let this crap run its course.

Some people just don't get over it.

/Not saying this is for everyone...just a lot of overweight people I talk to
//It's also very annoying being fully aware but unable to care enough to stop it

I stand corrected, then.  Although, last I was there, I became convinced the Brits were not allowed to serve anything, unless it was drenched in tikka-masala.

This is a step in the right direction. There is no genetics in weight, just excuses. I know this because I have weight issues and am told it's genetic, but I know something they don't know.
