Uh, its 47F above and cloudy, here. Might be fixin' to rain some, but that's no news.

I was thinking I might walk around the corner to the Pub for New Year's Later... if I don't get totally sucked into Skyrim again.

48 Degrees. Precipitation 60% Humidity 96%. Wind 3 mph.

Not bad for Canada.

I should prolly call my brother in Calgary now and complain about how cold it is here.

Then hold the phone 4 feet away from my head as a string of profanities are emitted.

That's always good for a laugh.

No, a company desperate to be relevant is naming snowstorms. We're treating the entire concept with contempt

Since you asked, Subby:

A WINTRY PRECIPITATION EVENT IS EXPECTED FROM THURSDAY INTO EARLY
FRIDAY WITH A MODERATE SNOWFALL ACCUMULATION BECOMING MORE LIKELY
WITH SNOWFALL TOTALS FROM 2-4 INCHES.

From the National Weather Service, the *only* place to get relatively accurate forecasts

2013-12-31 08:20:17 PM
Here in southern NJ, nothing until Friday...so this better be a thread with some longevity.

Even then, 2-3 inches probably.  My son, a bit north of NYC will get 6-8.

The Weather Channel is owned by the same people who pay Limbaugh, Beck, Hannity and Savage's salaries.  So yes, they do in deed blow goats.

Yeah, but according to your profile you hail from Manitoba, which - I think we can all agree - is actually a part of Canada... So that temp's prolly expressed in what you guys call "Degrees du Temprature du Celsius" And which, as we all know, is decidedly warmer than true American degrees.

Face it Frenchy, You're probably at a mild mid 50s to lower 60s American right now.

Must be nice. Bastard.

fark you and your winter storm threads. Are we going ro do this shiat in the summer every time it rains?

I tried watching the Weather Channel the other day. They didn't show the weather but there was a show about picking up rocks.

The infamous "Line of Snow" returns to the DC metro area.  Two miles to one side for 6" to 8" and two miles to the other side just rain and depression.

I'll be in Mpls Thursday... and every foreseeable day after that for the entirety of my miserable existence.

23F (-5C) here with obscene winds but no big whoop.  seasonable weather for the turn of the year

I wish this storm was 24 hours faster. That, or I wish I had gone to work on Monday so I could finish the job today and call the inspector from the comfort of my own home on Thursday.

Didn't it also involve an elaborate dance before a green backdrop that included wild gesticulations and hyperbolic bleating?

This place is gonna burn to the ground next summer. Hell, we had a wildfire in Big Sur a few weeks ago. In freaking December? We're doomed.

If it's like any other travelling I do, I'm usually too drunk to remember when my flight is, or if I manage so, I'm denied entry for being too drunk. So then I go back to the bar until they let me on the next flight.

2014-01-01 01:29:51 AM
Yeah, I'm starting to think I should've gone ahead and taken advantage of the fact that I got a personal day at midnight and put in for it before I left work Monday.

So is this going to be The Rock's Hercules or Kellen Lutz's Hercules?

In other words, are we expecting closer to 200 million in damage or 20 million?

People get weather on the Weather Channel? I thought it was a "reality" channel that sometimes marches Jim Cantore into hurricanes.

/NWS FTW

22 degrees and clear here, but we're not due any real snow until like 7 tonight. That way it should dump it all on the roads overnight, so my first drive in to work after the holiday can be nice and treacherous.

At least I spent time over the break working on my vehicle, so if I get stranded, it's got heat and supplies, so there is that.
