Well if a 60 year old is going to try and get pregnant there isn't any reason not to try and double Downs for twins.

My fiancee is in her 40s and we pretty much decided it's dangerous to try, despite the fact that we'd both like her son to have a half-sister. I can't imagine a woman taking that risk at 60. It's insane.

This meme has officially jumped the shark.

Hi kids.  Your grandma and gramdpa are already dead and your mom is a selfish biatch who will also be dead by the time you need a babysitter.

How can you laugh when you know they're Downs?

Even if it wasn't about the direct risks, what about the risk that she is going to be senile when the children are going into puberty?

Jesus Christ... WHY????  I'm 41 and can barely keep up with a 5 year old.

A high school friend of mine who is 52 just announced that his wife is pregnant with their first baby.  WTF?  Granted, I don't think she's 52...probably in her early 40s...but still.  WTF?

Since she undoubtedly used an egg donor, the risk for Down's wouldn't actually be that high -- it would depend on the donor's age, and most donors are young. That being said, ouch. I hope she has a lot of backup at home because twins at 60 will do her in pretty fast otherwise.

Babies are sweet and adorable creatures that are even sweeter and more adorable when they belong to someone else so you can send them home once they begin to scream and stink.

I can't imagine being a 60 year old and wanting to have a baby.

It must suck knowing you exist solely because your mom can't face aging.

I dunno where in her 40s she is, but I know loads of women 40-43 who've had babies, and all of them have been healthy.

Perfect twins at 48 for my wife. Find yourself a good reproductive endocrinologist, and both of you go into training like there's a marathon in your future.
