MDMA, psilocybin mushrooms, LSD, pills, 51 nitrous oxide tanks, and marijuana in both dried-leaf as well as brownie or cookie form

Once you get locked into a serious drug collection, the tendency is to push it as far as you can.

Drugs at a Phish show?  That's some damn fine police work, Lou.

I had that one all type up and then couldn't pull the trigger.  Lost my nerve.

Okay, I get all the Phish hate, but I really like and consider "a picture of nectar" as one of my favorite CDs.

\Its the one with "chalk dust torture" on it.

Dozens of mellows reportedly harshed.

I would imagine the drugs are the only way to survive the awful music and ignore the questionable hygiene of Phish fans.

I love that album, too. But Billy Breathes and Rift are the two I pick for my favorites.

I still listen to Lawn Boy a lot.  I think that if Phish never made another record after that, and just fell off the face of the earth, that it would be regarded as some underground jazz/prog masterpiece by hipsters today.

Over half the population are criminals under our current laws, and 99% of Phish fans.

I really like that album as well. Lawn Boy is one of my favorite songs. For a live band, they have a lot of solid studio albums.

I've never listened to Phis but went to one of their shows a couple years back. Had a couple goo-balls and then ate the best damn cheese fries ever. Also got kissed by some hot chick that told me I was beautiful. Fun fun! Didn't care about anyone's hygiene - everyone we met was really nice.

Never been to an area where a Phish concert was (and I thought they disbanded or stopped doing concerts a few years ago) but I do remember when the Dead would come to Madison Square Garden for concerts. I imagine they are similar except that you chose to wear condoms, you weren't required to by some sort of mega virus.

The bad: The stench was horrible. The people were annoying in more ways than I can relate.
The good: Getting laid, even if you weren't there for the Dead, was easy (just ask), cheap (a few plastic beads), and freaky.

Still, the stench was horrible and what I remember the most. Until the stench wiped out the memory of most everything else, as I think it was intended to do.

Has anyone mentioned that Phish sucks and is only tolerable with a massive light show and copious amounts of drugs?

I do like that Billy Breathes album.

But I thought they broke up and Trey was doing solo stuff now.

"There's nothing safer than a Phish show and no where else I'd rather be," said Evan Marx, 27, from Brooklyn

Phish fans have been known to get out of control.  I saw them once in West Palm Beach and the police presence was crazy.  There were over 50 police cars in the parking lot, mounted police, and even cops in tactical gear.  When I asked a cop why there was such a heavy presence he said at their previous concert there was a near riot and some police cars got flipped upside down.  He also said "I don't get it, these guys seems happy to eat their mushrooms and chill out on the lawn."

I know there was an incident in Red Rocks, as well as another somewhere else.

As someone who had die-hard Phish fans in high school, I'll bet they did them a favor by giving them a shower

Heh, Morrison actually. Remember it well, Phish gets 'banned' from Red Rocks.

I was at a Denver Broncos game a few weeks ago, and I witnessed tens of thousands of individuals obviously under the influence of the drug called alcohol. I saw fights, boorish behavior, petty crimes, humans urinating themselves (one of the drug's side effects), and it was all cool. Nobody gives a sh*t with alcohol despite its laundry list of adverse effects. Where were the DNA stings?

I'm in my 40's now, so I have to sit in the back for a Phish show because most of the fans annoy the bejeezus out of me. I have tickets to see Trey solo in a few weeks in a small theater.

Phish plays music for people with terrible taste in music, but pretty good taste in drugs.

I guess it's just my opinion. Joy is about the only one I don't really like.

I was there in 96, but  didn't stay at Chief Hosa's or nearby... so I missed out on that bit of unpleasant business.

We sold some mushroom tea, we sold some xstcy, we sold nitrus, opium, acid, heroin and PCP and now I hear the police calling after me, yes now I hear the police after me.

Oh just let her pass by

I think it's funny that you can get arrested for selling fake drugs. Wait, did I say funny? I meant stupid.

Came for this. The truth has never been stated so well.

"this is what Phish sounds like to people who don't like Phish"

I don't get the hate for Phish.  Seems like they're relatively interesting and progressive compared to generics like Widespread Panic and their ilk, or even live Dead....

2013-12-31 11:37:19 AM
A few years back I was at a Panic show (Not Phish, but close enough for a CSB) and I must say they had some very crafty undercover cops. I saw a guy with full-on dreads arresting people. Not the traditional fake headband with dreads attached, but legitimate nattys. Damnedest thing I tell ya.
