You let me know when someone else does 16 years, then breaks pretty much ALL the records. If you're a NFL fan, this is historic and you have to respect and admire the man. Humble, professional, and ridiculously talented. Like Collinsworth said--he's definitely raised the bar for QBing in the NFL.

Here's the thing on that: I was crunching some numbers last week after Von Miller was officially declared as done for the year. I found that if you ignore the Enver-Allas game (since the D didn't exist that day), the Denver defense actually gave up fewer points per game while Miller was suspended than when he was in the lineup. To be fair, I took out the game where they gave up the most points with Miller (which was his 1st game back at Indy) and the defense was still 1.5 pts better without him than with him.

That defense might not be in as bad a shape as we might think.

/Keeping that Cowboys game in the mix really skews things
//Include all games, the defense with Miller was 1 pt better than without

Even as a non-Denver fan it's been fun watching him set all these records. Mainly, looking forward to him passing Favre in the TDs and passing yards numbers in the next 2 years, primarily because Manning at least seems like a decent guy and Favre seems like a bit of a dick.

You're absolutely right. Every single one of those losses were his fault. Like 2013 when he got burned for two long touchdowns by Torrey Smith. And when he decided to waste 21 seconds and two timeouts and take a knee into OT.

Oh, wait...that was Champ Bailey and John Fox. But why blame the Defense or Coaching for their mistakes when you can say "Peyton always chokes!" It's much easier to pretend the QB loses games all on his own.

Yeah, like in 2000 when he shanked a game winning FG in OT at Miami, or 2003 when he let his receivers get mauled, or 2005 when he shanked a game tying FG against PIT, or 2009 when, despite overcoming historically bad starting field position throughout the game, he let the Chargers march down the field in OT, or in 2010 when he drove Indy down the field to take the lead and then promptly gave up a huge kickoff return to the Jets (only playoff game in NFL history with two lead changes in the final minute).

He REALLY sucks on defense and special teams.  Will he even make the HOF?

With all the rules protecting the QB and receivers, I am not surprised that old records are being broken.  Nothing against Manning, rein back your knob gobbling for a second and put things in perspective.

Warren Moon said it best in a recent radio interview - "If I had all of the rules changes when I was playing, I would be breaking records too"

So technically, yes - he did break those records.  Congratulations.  Understand that it is the similar to someone claiming more straight A grades in school after they changed the qualifying number to be 90-100 from the previous 94-100.

Okay, I remember the 70's and there was much hate for the Raiders who we thought of as cheaters and bullies. Seahawks were often times a fair to good team and played fair and I remember the KC rivalry was friendly. 1977 Orange Crush Defense, Craig Morton, magic year crushed by Cowboys in Super Bowl but importantly to Denver Oakland got put down. Elway years, a great Elway could get the team there and lose the big game spectacularly. Enter Terrell Davis and a good defense and it was Super Bowl against the Green Bay Packers and Brett Favre and we were going to die horribly like always and become number one in failure past Vikings and Bills. A miracle happened and Broncos won against Green Bay and then won the next year. Most exciting Super Bowl ever. Somewhere along the way Seattle got moved out of the Division and the Conference and we felt bad for the Seahawks out there by themselves. Now Seattle has a good team and has a chance to do well and Bronco fans still think fondly of the Seahawks and hope they do well.
And Elway, Saint Elway still owns Denver. After the debacle that was McDaniels he brought the team back from as low as it could go. Been a fun ride. And having Manning standing there beside Elway is just a blast. Two of the best quarterbacks ever who play for one of the best teams and organizations ever. Nowhere near Bills level of futility, always working - really working to be better. Isn't that what we all want from our various favorite teams?

Or, more accurately, there was no 'miracle' or 'magic.' Denver put together the right combo of running attack, blocking scheme and their special teams and defense was good enough to outlast a too-heavily favored Packers team in XXXII. And you could argue if it weren't for the Jaguars debacle the year before the Broncos would have the NFL's only threepeat.
