I lost about a quarter sheet of acid in the back seat of a car once. My mom's car. Found it about a year later. Not sure how I would have explained it if she had found it.

The Tillers said they plan to go straight to the jewelers to get it sized so that it won't fall off again.

Sure it won't.

In the back seat of someone's car? I'm no jewelry expert but don't you need specialized equipment for that?

Oh sure, you could take it into a jeweler to have it cleaned. But apparently you can also lay in the back seat of a car with your legs up, calling out to God.

Nevermind that it was in the article:

In 2007, Hickman and his new bride drove the Tillers home from a wedding in Richmond.
In a Facetime interview, Leslie Tiller explained that she had taken it off to clean it, and when she dropped it, she thought it fell into her lap. Once they arrived home, they searched for hours, but never found the ring.

Uh-huh. If that were true, I'd have been up all night looking for that damn ring, whether anybody else helped or not. Unless I had to get to work early and my fiancee didn't, in which she'd better search for it till she finds it. Replacing lost diamonds is a rich person's thing.

"Dude, I'm not asking you or her to help, just let me find it and call a cab home. You've got tools to put the seat back in, right? Trust me, it's a once in a lifetime event. If she loses it again I'll replace the fiancee."

About fifteen years ago I was tossing stuff out and came across my ex-wife's old CD player. When I picked it up to toss in the dumpster something rattled.  'Probably a loose screw or some other sh*t' I thought, then just being curious I shook it and her lost wedding ring fell out. Slightly more related as kids me and my brother caught three largish fish (live) from a creak out behind a friends house. And my mother bring my mother let us take them home in a bucket. On the drive back one of them flipped out the bucket and went behind the seat. We never found it..

I seem to remember a sheet being about the size of a standard greeting card, about 5"x7" or so. It's been a long time since I've seen one though.

reminds me of the joke:

a husband and wife are watching TV, and someone on the program mentions the idea of oxymorons.

husband: oxymoron?
wife: yes--like something good that also makes you feel bad.
husband: I don't believe it. so you could say something that makes me feel both good and bad?
wife: yes.
husband: try it.
wife: among all your friends, you have the biggest c*ck.

Never found any jewelry but did find a joint under the back seat after someone spilled their drink and I took it out to clean. I assume it was one of my Navy buddies that either dropped it there by accident or tossed it there if they saw the cops. I was home in Iowa when I found it so I gave it to a cousin. That was 30 years ago and he still goes on about how it was the best stuff he ever had. Glad they never brought out the dogs to search the car when I was entering the base. I have no idea how long that thing was there.

She'd know what it looked like? My mom would have just thought it was a scrap of paper if it were blotter or a piece of plastic if it were windowpane. Did you try any of it to see if it was still good? I'd imagine blotter wouldn't hold up as well as windowpane.
