They're playing the Raiders Monday night. If Manning plays he should be good for half a dozen more against a depleted Raiders secondary.

LOL! Thanks! I've been going around all day thinking it was Saturday! Having what I think is a Caturday thread at the top of the TF Greenlit page didn't help any.

You got nothing on me. I thought it was Tuesday because I had a day off the other day. And I hope my neighbor isn't home for this game. He's an incredibly loud Broncos fan. Nice guy, but annoying on Sunday.

Well, it'd be nice if it was 286 yards instead of 266 yards, but he'll probably get either before halftime against friggin' Oakland.

Wade Phillips is awfully triumphalist for a someone who lost.  You'd think that his team blew Denver out and the only thing that Denver had going for it was a touchdown pass.

I think Wade has coached -- and been fired by -- so many teams he can't remember which team he's coaching any more.

That weren't no touchdown!

I seem to recall Manning scored his 51st* TD in that game as well, so technically he did get the record, he just didn't break it. Oh, wait... no, he did break it, because the ruling on the field stands, even if the call was botched. Just ask the Packers about that regarding when they played in Seattle with replacement refs.

Point is, Wade Phillips can crow about this "victory" if he likes, but the truth is his team - like most of the teams he has been head coach for - got taken to the woodshed and whipped like a red-headed stepchild. No asterisk will ever take that shame away, nor will it help him get a permanent HC job again.

Maybe. If Manning gets hit a few times, Fox might pull him out of an abundance of caution, especially if they already are up a couple of TDs over Oakland. So he might extend the TD record, but still not break the yardage record on Sunday.

Ehhh....if he tosses two in the first half for 168 yards, and the Donks are up 14-10 over the Raiduhs, he'd DEFINITELY stay in.

If he tosses four for 185 yards, he'd DEFINITELY stay in.

If Moreno vultures them from 3 yards out and he's got 140 yards and 0 TDs at the half and they're up 24-0...maybe. That's like a 30/70 maybe. And that's IF the Raiders rush has been getting anywhere near him. Which it won't, since all they have to do is double Houston.

If only there was another regular season game where he could set the mark.

2013-12-27 11:11:05 PM
It'd be 51*. You either write the actual number and asterisk it or you only count the ones you consider "actual" whatever-the-f*cks-you're-counting. (If you're a jackwagon who needs to interject your opinion into simple counting statistics because your ego is more important than facts, anyway.

Also, we're going to pretend there was an error on that and we're going to ignore the asinine call to clinch last week's game for the Cardinals? Got it, NFL.

Not only that, but when Peyton broke the TD record the 1st time around, he got TD #49 against the Chargers whose DC at the time was... Wade Phillips.

Can you say "butthurt?"

That'd be nice.  I'm sure Manning would count that as a late Xmas if he breaks Brady's record during the last week of the season rather than the second to last.

LOL have you watched the Broncos? If they're on the 3, they're throwing first. If they're on the 1, they're throwing first and second. Maybe they'll consider a draw. But it's all about the Manning record train.

That would require Peyton actually hand it off on the 3....I keed, I keed.

/keeding on the square
//Peyton doesn't make it if he's hurt or if Moreno breaks off some long TD runs to put 'em up big at the half
///only a maybe even if the latter happens, lol

All of my statements were qualified with "if"; I think he's gonna do it with with 350 or so and 3 tds.

True enough. I'm just saying there's zero chance Moreno's going to vulture anything. They've been focused on that record since Week 1 basically made it easy to get there.

Celebrate with him cause the Broncos are awesome.  Since you're annoyed do it slightly after he does like you're a minute or two behind on the DVR.  It'll help him realize he's not in a cone of silence.  I've accidentally done this multiple times it works like a charm.  Or you can follow the ancient drunkard proverb and "just get some beer and join him."

LOL if you've watched the Broncos you'd know the have a huge fumbling problem (16 baby! First in fumbles!)  especially inside the five.  It certainly has padded Manning's stats because he can't trust the running game so he calls a lot more passes in the banana zone but it's not just LULZ  Manning record train!!

As someone who picked up Montee Ball as my "upside" back late in FFB...yeah, I do. :/

/it's about both
//you do have a point though

Haha I know. I lost my first two RBs to injury really early so i had all the Broncos backs.  I thought Hillman was going to win the job.  It was his to lose going into camp and lose it he did.  In fumbles...

Why doesn't anyone care when Manning is playing in the 4th quarter of a blowout throwing passes and running up the score? The record is still impressive but people are hypocrites.

"Poor Manning," Phillips said. "He thought he broke the record."

When did that fat mopey fark turn into Dr. Evil?

I wonder if he's going to get another job or if people will eventually notice that he will get them fired.

because people don't really care about running up the score, it was just an excuse to hate on the undefeated pats being undefeated that one year

Technically you can't wait for something that doesn't exist.

Have you seen him throw a ball? There are stronger high school quarterbacks.

"I sorta wanted it, so Manning didn't really rape me," says Wade Phillips, '...plus, he didn't wipe his dick on the drapes...so there's that.'

Wade is a nice guy and a pretty good DC in the right circumstances, but he really ought not be saying anything about this.

2013-12-28 03:14:22 PM
Considering Brady got the benefit of that awful defensive holding call against the Ravens in 07, the old record should've been 49 anyway.

2013-12-28 07:39:49 PM
Wow, Wade Phillips is an immature douchebag.
