(News9 Oklahoma)   Apparently one of the things that can stop a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a table leg, who beats the crap out of the bad guy with it, takes his gun, and makes him take his clothes off before locking him outside   (news9.com) divider line 50

Kinda surprised I couldn't find a table with real rifles for legs. I did find one apparently made out of bullets though.

I, for one, support the banning of table legs with high capacity clips.

They seem to be confusing who the 'victims' are.  It seems that Corneieuliyuus is the final victim, and should be.  T&hey apparently did not want to confuse the local popo with who the real victims are.

Why hit someone with a periodic table?  The head is made of gas, it won't do much!

I lol'd at this, however, it would've been so much better if this took place in a heavy snow region.  Add in his mom walking by with his grandmother, and that may just kill him of double exposure.

Those are not bullets. Those are spent shell casings. A table made from functional ammunition would, with current ammunition prices, be more expensive than typical luxury automobiles.

He could have been reaching into his pocket to offer skittles to everyone, but got the wrong pocket and offered his gun to everyone instead. And hasn't anyone ever heard of Tourettes?

Good to see racial profiling alive and well.

I can't fault a man for using whatever was available to disable a goblin.  The warrior spirit isn't defined by your weapon.  It comes from your willingness to do harm to goblins with whatever is at hand.

In civilized societies, the law recognizes that criminals are entitled to a safe working environment as much as anyone else. The man who committed the robbery may be poor and destitute and desperate to feed starving children; by using violence, the home resident may have deprived a family of their primary income earner.

I'm curious if the use of a different type of ammo or firearm would prevent  people deciding to stick your gun up your ass when you pull it out? Surely some of our more pedantic gun owners must have some thoughts on this?

Passive little victims?.. Oh HELL no, we are Oklahomans! We fight back after tornadoes, earthquakes and whatever God throws at us, and we come out on the winning side... Now, what you got... Idiot?

However, if they had actually killed the robber, the man's spirit may have been able to cash in his suffering on a better incarnation in his next existence. So he's got that going for him. Which is nice.

Exactly.   Why do people persist in this (demonstrably false) assumption that a person who thinks your life is worth less than the shoes you are wearing is going to behave in a rational manner?   By threatening you with a weapon they've demonstrated that they pose an immediate threat to human life, and you are thereby justified to use deadly force to end that threat.

I would say that not only are you legally justified to act, you are morally obligated to as well.   Defense of your person is a civil right; defense of your community is a civic duty.
