Dear chiselers -

I, uh, hate to mention this, but all of this "z0mg teh iPod / phone / pad!" worship is pathetic.   No, it is.

"But this is the Jesus appliance!  I will do ANYTHING to get one!  Steal!  Lie!  Screw businesses and buyers out of money!"

It doesn't prolong your life, it doesn't feed starving kids, it doesn't make breakfast.  It gives you a comfy spot up in your ass for your head.  And if your integrity is worth less than that, you have none.

I don't think they thought their cunning plan all the way through.

You are supposed to SPREAD the erasers around so no one notices.

2013-12-27 08:17:23 PM
Silver lining: Those erasers won't die with 29% battery life left or have glitch-filled OS updates.

2013-12-27 08:28:44 PM
On the plus side, Delete works really well with those models.

should have gotten an Asus MeMO instead.

1) doens't have erasors

2) not a ripoff

3) Asus makes the best gear

Perhaps clear packaging or a window might help stop this.

Kind of like the Chevy-Ford pickup truck debate.

This . .

Or big box distribution centers will start using airport style xray machines to scan big ticket / small package items.

Jim says Target officials told him they suspect a distributor is triads are making the swap somewhere between the Apple Foxconnfactory and the store shore.

I suspect it's more that someone is getting good about resealing packages. Hmmm... No Google hits on "how to reseal merchandise". But I thought iOs devices had their serial numbers traceable, which should be part of how everything that connects to a central server should be hard to fence.

Unless they changed the packaging, the iPod Touch does have clear packaging. Yes, there is a sticker on the iPod, itself, but you can still see the actual product. The original iPods and the smaller ones might not be in clear packaging.

This society really needs a correction.

Everything your 1337 iPhone5 Super v.Über 5.5.1.0 BLT does, the EVO does better, cheaper and with a variety of providers.  Apple is the Snazzy Car Maker badge of IT.  And that's about all.

So, not just counterfeit components sold to manufacturers.
Deja vu all over again.

Yeah, that's really not necessary.  The shrink wrap should have stood out as being off.  Stuff that is re-wrapped looks and feels completely different than factory shrink wrap.

As for the iPods themselves, the serial numbers are tracked, so if they really wanted to, they could find those iPods.

I was thinking it to be employee scam, but more and more is showing up.
Walmart, Target. The list will grow methinks.

I worked in the department store retail industry for a few years. This type of theft is not new and most likely an employee of the establishment is the culprit.

Wanted to get an Asus MeMO but they were sold out.  So I picked up a Hisense sero 7 pro instead and after playing with it for a few minutes I was glad the MeMO was sold out.  This thing is a beast.  1280 x 800-pixel display and a 1.3-GHz quad core Nvidia Tegra 3 processor, mini-HDMI, 32gb micro-SD slot and killer battery life.  All for 149 bucks.  Easy to root too also if you're into that sort of thing.  I was skeptical at first because it was a wall-mart tablet but this thing is a great value and I highly recommend to anyone looking for a cheap tablet.  No they're not paying me to plug them, I'm just really excited about this gem I found that's hiding in plain sight.

This happened to us way back in 2004. We bought a Playstation from Walmart, opened the package and found a block of wood perfectly cut to fit into the styrofoam shell.

Walmart took it back without any problems.

Same thing happened to me. Bought a microwave, last one like it in the mega-chain store. Inside was a used microwave. They went in through the bottom of the box very carefully. Went to second mega-chain store to get exchange. They also only had one left. This one more obvious that it was open. Inside was yet again a used microwave.

Totally pissed that I hadn't taken advantage of this simple scam all these years, I went to the next model up for the same price after a bit of negotiation.

I mix records and live shows for a living.  Every so often, I check a mix on ear buds.  These RCA cheapies are about 8.00 and blow anything from Apple away.  Seriously.  If you ain't gonna go full tilt D0ktor Dr3 ear muffins, check these out.

Very useful and accurate bass response, lots of iso and the mids aren't aggressive or tiring.

Sounds to me like a retailer reselling returned merchandise as new because the packaging appeared to be intact.

Sucks to be her, I guess. Meanwhile, I can't wait for my P-P-PowerBook to arrive!

But on the plus side, erasers don't go out of date as quickly, and no one laughs if you have last year's model. None of that "New erasers are 40% thinner, with sleek, rounded corners," or "Oh, will that erase all of the current mistakes? HAHAHA!"

But, have they been having suicide problems at the eraser factory?  Hmm?  See.  You guys fail to see the big picture.

Android is much more fun and much more easy to root and do fun things with .... like hax0ring wifi ;-)  Try that with your pretentious apple device!

btw, unless your listening room is sh*t, always listen to music with no additional E.Q.  Cause that's what the mastering engineer signed off on and that is what the record sounds like.  Also, treat your listening room.  Because that room is 90% of what you're hearing.  Ask Armar Bose.
