The 'nastiness ' is part of most Fark threads, a lot of folks enjoy that.. and come for that... in spite of that, some of the threads are very educational.. once you sort through the bull, a lot of people are right on the money with their assessment of the topic under discussion.. keeps things interesting....

Plumbicon did honours; from L, Furrnandina the Queen Mum, Furry for short, who snuck into our garage in Apr 2007 to bear Yakko centre, Wakko R & their sister Dot who we let co-worker of chorusmate adopt. Adopter was vouched for, but that turned out futile, boo hisss, Point of this, for jankyboy, is that Yakko appears to have some Siamesy in his heritage. Maine Coon Etc may be best short way to describe this lot.

I actually liked ME better, and I was never able to get ME to run beyond booting directly into a blue screen. It's the thought that maybe ME had *some* redeeming quality (if it ran) that makes it my preference.

I'm serious. I heard 8 was bad, but I had no idea! IMHO Microsoft went full retard on Win8...and we all know you never go full retard.
www.smugmug.com

Although I have read that 8 has some (very small) performance improvements over 7 in certain areas I just can't stomach the interface enough to find out. I'll stick with 7 for now.

Speaking of Windows 8, currently downloading 8.1 from MSDN to rip to disk for the bf's computer. His Toshiba laptop keeps overheating and powering off so he's using mine to do the job.

We made it back to Dallas at about 4 in the morning on Christmas Eve. We stopped in the Texas panhandle to gas and air up and the air machine was broken, making low tires much worse. Had to wait for AAA guy for about 3 hours. But since then we've been having fun spending time with our families. The cat loves that we're here and meows at the door so he can nap on our bed. Anyway, we'll be here at the bf's parents' until we are again employed and find ourselves a place. :)

Happy birthday to sherpa18!

sno man: domari: sno man: domari: I hope you all had a nice Christmas if that's what you celebrate and Santa brought you and your kitties lots of goodness. We don't do much here...

Yea.  Yea you did.  May Ceiling Cat smile upon you.  Best of luck rounding up the last of the cats(!) let us know how that goes...

When one of my friends went to reset the traps this morning, she say the last kitten hiding under the trailer. We named him TIny TIm. He has a deformed front leg, not sure if it's from an injury or congenital. He's afraid of people and has been very elusive all week. Hopefully she can get him lured into the trap today. I do think he is the last cat there that needs to be removed from the trailer.

This is Tiny Tim...

Tiny Tim looks an aweful lot like the one in the other pic, but with better eyes, (look like littermates) I'd guess there were a few others.  Best of luck scooping up the little guy...

We did manage to get Tiny Tim today, who turned out to be Tiny Tina!!!
I think she might be related, around the same size. Tiny Tina's eyes look great, but she has some congestion in her lungs which needs to be treated. We thought she was going to be the most feral because she's avoided us all week, but she turned out to be all snuggly! She didn't need to be trapped. The woman who was helping to remove the cats, sat on the ground and slowly coaxed her out. Tina climbed into her lap. It was that simple.

I'm just so happy we got her out of there alive. Every day she remained in the trailer, the lower the odds would be of success.
Now as far as we can tell, there are no more live cats in the trailer. This makes a total of 20 cats removed. Pretty good haul, considering the conditions the cats lived in. I'm surprised I only found three dead, but I wasn't about to wander around in that trailer looking for bodies. It just wasn't safe to be inside, besides, I couldn't help them anyway.

Now the tough part, having them all tested for feline leukemia on Monday. We tested two when we first got them, one was negative and one was positive. I won't know what to do with them until we test them all. Felv + cats can be adopted out to homes without other cats, or with other felv+ cats.

Here's Tiny Tina and Michele, one of my wonderful and very patient cat catching helpers.

Now for the sad news.... we lost our Jeff today. He's been sick for a while, seemed to be getting better, then took a turn for the worse. When I couldn't find him today, I didn't think it would end well.
Jeff was born here, Cretinbob got attached to him right away. When someone called and asked if we had kittens for adoption, Cretinbob said to tell them no. Jeff was here to stay. I just wish he could have stayed longer, he was such a good boy. He got along with all the other cats, the dogs, and everyone he met.
He was very photogenic, with his beautiful green eyes, he was often the cat in front of the camera. I think some of you have captioned his silliness over the years.
We're going to miss him so much, certainly won't be another one like him.

RIP sweet Jeffy...
