sherpa18: Bathia_Mapes: sherpa18: Bathia_Mapes: Before I forget, I'm gonna leave this here just for you (apologies if you have already seen it)
Posted it in last week's Caturday thread, but no apologies necessary. One can never get too much Lil Bub.

lulz

Considering how big Caturday threads tend to get after a few days even I can't remember everything that was posted.

At any rate I won't be around too much this weekend. We're having company so I'll be somewhat sidetracked.

My dad was the coolest and I miss him so much. My mom has always been close to my sister (my sis is the main problem in this house, even at 43 years old!), so my sis gets away with everything. She's actually refused to get a steady job since the restaurant closed over 2 years ago. She's just sponging off my mom and her boyfriends. Mostly my mom, though, which means she's sponging off me by extension. I hope I go first because while someone will need to take care of my mom, they'll end up having to take care of my very unpleasant sister as well. I don't want that to be me. I will not discuss the whys or hows or anything else, but my restraint in that area has been amazing.

I'm trying to get a picture of the Yeti in my back yard so you guys can see it, but it keeps hiding from me.

Wow, read all the way to the fot of page 6, (Fri afternoon).  Got back yesterday afternoon from Home For The Hellidays.  Wasn't too bad this year.  Both my sisters and there significant others were up and enjoyed themselves.  My bro only stayed a few hours and was very well behaved.  I think the new medication agrees with him.  My Dad stocked enough Redd Apple Ale and Sam Adamas holiday specials that I didn't wven mind Mom and Dad's  occasional Fox News rants.  I'm conversative, and even I can't take more than 3 days of that pair.  Got a bunch of nice pics from my top-of-the-lie $5.98 Kmart Kamera.  Here, let me show you the them...

This is Otto, my sister's dog.  He is a German Mittel Spitz, aka American Eskimo Dog.  Otto loves scritches and gets underfoot like a cat, but is also spastic and will run in every room in the house but yours when you call him into your room.

i1134.photobucket.com

He must share my Dad's politics.  Here he is staring at Fox with rabid attention.

i1134.photobucket.com

Otto charges me when he see's me sitting on HIS bed.
i1134.photobucket.com

More scritches...
i1134.photobucket.com

Finally calmed him down, now on the couch with me.  The big black block is my sister and bro-in-law.  Yes, they really look that way IRL...
i1134.photobucket.com

And no, I'm not drunk OR hungover in that pic.  A rare moment.

I find those things everywhere. I'm one of those people who automatically picks something up if I see in on the floor. I try not to do that outside, because I end up being a roadside cleaning crew of one in some areas. It's a hard habit to break, though.

started tutoring @3rd grade, by the time i caught up to "take choir/band/orchestra" levels (was third, then sixth, then dropped because 678 was now MIDDLE school, etc...) tutor was teaching me bluegrass fiddle...

if he's keen on it, make sure he keeps it climate controlled...  i've replaced a few bridges, but if the soundpost on this snaps, it's basically kindling.

Life is ironic.  I took some sick days here to use them up at the end of the year.  And today....you guessed it, sick.  My head hurts, throat feels funky, took a 2 hour nap on the couch with the dogs.  I'm hungry though....beef stew in the crock pot and smells wonderful.  I'm hoping this was just a funk today (since I woke up at 3:40 am.....wth???)

It's probably a combination of dough texture/temp and your technique. You'll get it with practice. I'm learning to do nail stamping - got the plates and little stamper thingie and everything - and man, am I making a mess! I practice on fake fingernails so it's not as bad as just going to town on my actual fingernails and having to start all over, but still, there are such AWESOME things you can do with them and I so desperately WANT to get it right, but I still don't *quite* have it down yet. I know HOW it's to be done - just like you how it's supposed to work with the cookies - but I just don't have the technique perfected yet. There's a learning curve in there somewhere and all the explainin' and tippin' and whatnot in the world can't make up for just doing it and doing it A LOT. I think we just don't have the magic touch yet. We'll "get it" eventually. I have faith in both of us!
