lilyspad: Have you started to thaw out yet??

It still pretty icy around here, and we got 3-4 inches of snow on top of that...  Made for some pretty good tobogganing yesterday!
Mom's power came back on and she's settling in at home... It'll probably be a week or two before she has all her timers back up to speed, she also had to toss everything in the fridge, so she's a bit scattered, but all are cozy and warm here.
Here's a few of the ice over the last few days...

Good meowning, everybuddy! After a few weeks of sleep, I'm almost back to my normal, hell raisin' self! Also thinking about finally getting my spice mix/fancy salt/seasoned sugar thing going as a way to generate income. It won't be as hard on me as my specialty event/semi-catering thing I've been doing and could help until I get back on my feet health-wise and figure out what I can and cannot do. I'll start playing with my blends and packaging and whatnot after the first of the year when the house is all fumigated and stuff.

YAY for Buddy the Wonder Dog! I am picturing him posed, noble profile in full view, head raised triumphantly, wearing a little cape, one paw resting on a turkey sammich. He's Buddy the Wonder Dog. That is obviously the ONLY way to picture him!

YAY!!! for the entire Caturday crew, matter of fact. You guise done good this year, as usual. I will try my bestest to be at the Caturday New Year's Eve thingie, but I will be in a hotel while my house is being fumigated, so it will depend on many factors. I think they have wifi, but will need to double check to be sure.

BTW, I HAVE met the guys from Slayer, many, many years ago. I've been so deeply involved in the "extreme metal" (Gods, I hate that term) subculture for so long, I know a lot of the local bands in whatever area I call home. I always look for my fellow metal heads when I move somewhere, before I find the liquor store even. The metal subculture is very incestuous when it comes to musicians, with many of them having more than one project going at any one time. Everyone seems to know each other, at least by sight, and we make friends over the years. As a result, when a friend's band would open for an out of town band and if I was good enough friends with them, I would sometimes help with set up or costuming or whatever and I've met a lot of out of town bands and people who "made it" because of that. That's how I met Slayer. The one thing I learned over the years (and learned very quickly) is these guys all have one thing in common. They're all just people. I think that's why I've always been accepted relatively quickly in that environment. I treat everyone like a person and do not fawn or freak out or get some weird chip on my shoulder (like I've seen some people do) or be a bother. I treat them like I want to be treated, just like anyone else. If I don't like the way I'm treated in return, I leave, just like I would if they were anyone else. Easy peasy. (The guys in Slayer were really cool after the required suspicious look at me, btw. Hanneman dubbed me the "pick transport specialist" because when I bumped into him at catering he looked at me funny and I held up my friend's guitar pick and said "I'm helping" before snagging a bottle of water and an apple. He thought that was funny, I guess.)

Around here we call that the death meow.
It's usually heard ('seen' would be more appropriate) when treats are desired or the bowl is half empty.

I find those things everywhere. I'm one of those people who automatically picks something up if I see in on the floor. I try not to do that outside, because I end up being a roadside cleaning crew of one in some areas. It's a hard habit to break, though.

understandable.  i have one, and i don't own a guitar.  got it with a tip.  guessing they just emptied out pocket change...  still have it, 'cuz i collect random stuff like that.  useless junk but it reminds me of something...

/somewhat csb, had a teacher learning electric bass, knew i played violin, and after about two weeks of bass lessons, he told me before class one day "i have no idea how you play a fretless instrument"

I was so worried I was going to miss the much anticipated New Year's Eve TFD/Caturday snugglethon (which is what is to be expected when Caturdayians are involved) as that is during the Death To Termites multi-day event and I will be holed up with my Mom and the Gogh Beastie in a hotel. Thankfully, the hotel we have decided on seems to have moved into this century and has wifi in "most rooms". I don't even know what that means or why they wouldn't have it in all rooms, but whatevs. Just as long as I have my wifi, I'm good. I BETTER have my wifi! If not, there's a McD's in the parking lot and they usually have wifi, so I'll at least be able to check in.

From ft of pg 2, luckily it's still Meowning. This is literally Good Meowning in Suomi Finn, cobbled from bi-ling dictionary as unable to locate Finnish 4 Furriners I know's here in house someplace. & no, cats who own us didn't take it. Too big & heavy for them tho it's a paoperback ~6x8',
You knew this had to appear sometime didn't all y'all? Depictured only sorta resembles late Fred.
Did get to see Li'l Bub Climbs Like Champ vid.  Also wish to wish good boy Bowser seen on pg 2 & mayhap later a belated Merry Christmas.  I_Don't_Like_FOP, his mistress, appreciate TF Band graphic in your profile. Plumbicon was in the band in HS & college after AFROTC kicked him out for being too nearsighted to even fly a desk. Also relative to your domicile, the Harmonically Expanded Sweet Adelines Intl Region 4 now extends to there. Your town was in Heart of Dixie Region 23, now split between 4 & whatever's East. R4 also renamed Harmony Heartland, which has more zip than prior E Central R4.
Wish to mention before mefurrgets again, Every Christmas Tale Ever Told (&Then Some) now plays in Zinzinnati. Was also a reference to Every Christmas Carol Ever Sung (&Then Some).
Enjoyed Skype call yesterday from kin in Raleigh NC; Pl's sis & her spouse, hosting younger dtr, spouse & 1st grandchild Faizi (Bounty of God in Persian which his dad is). Also older dtr & spouse, owned by feline overlady Mocha in Ottawa ON who didn't come. Being cared for by spouse's kin there (numerous from which to pick one).
