Can you loan him $10, though? He ran out of gas and his car is just around the corner. He's supposed to be at a funeral in a town 30 miles from here. His wife and infant daughter are in the car waiting for him. He lost his credit card. So, please, can you just do him a solid and lend him $10 so he can gas up and get to that funeral?

What stealing original pictures and making composites might look like

steam_cannon: This all sounds like bad press paid for by a competing photography company and like nothing really wrong happened. Using stock background images from a paid art account is the bread and butter of high school photo shoots. In the photography business there are a lot of customers that would like their likeness stuck into a nice stock photo. Most real customers don't have time or money for on location photo-shoots.

Quote from tumbler: "I've checked in with the original photographers and outside of the stock agencies he's not been granted permission to use the original works in this manner "

"and outside of the stock agencies he's ", so what is that supposed to mean? What that sounds like is a photographer sold his photo to a stock art company and the stock art company is reselling it to this company. This is normal. The original photographer hasn't directly granted permission for use in this manner, but normally he wouldn't do that because the original photographer sold his rights to the stock art company so the original photographer is irrelevant and the rights the stock agency holds is all that matters. What it sounds like is everyone was paid. The argument in this quote looks false and is worded trickily to get people upset. This nitpicking sounds like pedantic nonsense.

Quote from tumbler: "some images he used are NOT stock and he did NOT get rights to use the images".

This is the tumbler posters claim but, they didn't post any proof backing this up. This is an accusation and a fairly unimportant one. Even this tumbler article admits that the photography company made some efforts to secure digital rights for at least some of the photos, so this doesn't sound like the company is trying to skirt the law. At worst a mistake was made with some of the digital rights, but that's an easy mistake. And so far this tumbler article hasn't even proven any mistakes were made. So far I'm only seeing accusations and zero proof.

Quote from tumbler: "Note that most of the imag ...

From conflating the issue of him selling "composite" images that he changed nothing on, to ignoring the his claims of the heritage of the "shots," to attacking those who attack him... I think this may well be the best bait in the water in years. Topping it off with the "accusations and zero proof" when the proof is displayed in both the article and the comments... fan-farking tastic. You sir, are the Bob Ross of trollolol, and you'v really elevated your craft to an art. Goddamn brilliant.

This is an original I bought from him before he went bad.  I'm willing to part with it for the right amount.

I'll trade you for this one. I took it last week:

IlGreven: MSFT: So... did I miss the part about him claiming to have cancer? Or was that a joke that went over my head?

In the comments on the CJ FB page, there's this (reposted in the comments at TFA):

"I have a comment/question that is totally different from ANY of the 450 comments on here....Is he still sick and dying? When I met him last April, he would tell me every week that he had various treatments for Cancer and liver dialysis --that he was in fact dying..Ii would always try to ask for upcoming information and help him with any moral support I could, but it was very difficult because he would become very defensive and dismissive if I dare asked a question. He was VERY sick every week or every other week -constantly...and then in the 9 months since I last had contact with him, I have never seen him make any mention of it....Is he still sick or was the Cancer cured?"

His story is in remission too.

EdenLiesObscured: Read about this the other day. The "photographer" has incredible kahunas. He's a gutsy shyster who works really, really hard at cheating the system so he doesn't have to work sort of hard. But his mouth and blatant lying after being presented evidence are keeping him in hot water. This defamation suit is a dying grasp....

Is this the guy?

reaperducer: FTFA:

The entire saga began on December 20th
The article was posted on the 24th.  Three days is kind of quick to call anything a "saga."

I tried watching Jersey Shore once, to see what the hype was all about... I struggled through about 4 minutes of it... and I really feel the terms "epic," "saga," "marathon," and "ordeal" all apply. I'm still traumatized, but I'm working through it day by day.

Jeez where I live this is all to common, the bullshiat list grows every year, here are my top 5 this year alone

1) I'm sorry to bother you, but I need to go see a doctor across town and need some change to get a taxi, could you please help me? (Fat tub in a mobility scooter who I guess doesn't know what a Bus is since Taxis don't take mobility scooters here)
2) Im out of gas (for a really obnoxious reason like your kids dying)
3) my landlord is about to evict me can you spare change so i don't get evicted? (being a landlord this is funny because it wont stop the process)
4) my kid needs some medicine at the pharmacy however I cannot afford it can you help me out?
This is my personal favorite
5) I need some gas money man, will you buy something from the back of my trunk like an Ipad or Gold chain? gimmie $50 for this rolex! Dawg its a real rolex no joke!

It's sad how common those stories are, especially the "left my wife and kids in the car" detail. I'll toss a few bucks at a panhandler for a good story, but I don't reward lazy, recycled cliches. Start doing that and it's a slippery slope to padding out your Blu-Ray collection with W.S. Anderson movies.
