Without his diving stop of a Cesar Geronimo line-drive in game 2 of the 1972 World Series, the Oakland Athletics may not have won that series. RIP, Mr. Hegan.

Have met Bouton couple of times - nice guy.  Also have had the chance to exchange emails a few times.

The book itself really now almost reads like fiction - with the way the guys got treated, getting screwed by management during salary talks, just about everything.

Should be required reading for fans AND players.

Very sad to hear this. Hegan and Jack Corrigan were the voices of my summer on Channel 43 in Cleveland.
