Ironically, most cosplayers that made an Iron Man suit probably spent way more than that and it will be better constructed.

Would be a shame if someone were to leak the files for printing the suit to the maker community.

Yeah, I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that not even the suit in the movie was "functional", unless by "functional" you mean you could wear it. It's a movie, dorks.

You don't know what subby menat by 'functional'; it could mean 'as a biatchin costume'

You know what happens when you assume...

Well that would be why I put in the qualifier "unless by 'functional' you mean you could wear it", genius.

The same way it would be a shame if someone were to leak the plans for the ICE that will run a car 100 miles on a gallon of water.

I'm guessing if Marvel came to those folks today and said, for drawing attention to our characters we'll only ask one penny in royalties for each suit you produce, they still wouldn't deliver a single actual suit matching what they promised.

Article says something about carbon fiber... $2000 wouldn't over the cost of any thing carbon fiber. Not even an arm and a leg.

A full car hood with titanium locking pins only runs around $600 to $1000 depending on the size. Where have you been?

Typo.  They meant the costume is made with carbon AND fiber.
