No, they did have a good year. There was an unprecedented number of "crises", manufactured and otherwise, that got them into the homes of lots of folks. They may have been piss poor in their reporting, accuracy, etc, but it was a good year for a news network. Any news network.

Television networks base their success solely on their profit margins.  That's why 24 hour news channels are just pro wrestling without the tights.

Misconduc: It could be worse, Cnn giving rachael maddow a tv show.

That would improve the accuracy of their reporting by 1000x
