About five minutes later, an official-looking woman not dressed as an elf brought me to another lodge

Black Santa sits at the back of the sleigh. Where is Phil "Rosa Parks" Robertson in our hour of need?

Daily Mail, so I'm going to have to doubt that black people even exist.

Isn't this one of those situations where it's based on a real person, so changing his color seems almost racist in itself?
St. Nicholas was Greek, wasn't he?  Not saying he was a "white" guy.  He was a "Greek" guy.

If you're going to believe Jesus existed, he would be an Israeli guy.  Not white or black.  Middle Eastern.

James Bond was a fictional character written as a white guy.  But you COULD make him black.  Even though he was written as white.

Nelson Mandela was a black guy. So you can't make a movie starring a white actor because the man was black.

I don't understand the confusion for the WORLD with this topic

It seems to me that what really needs to happen here is that we need to drop the bit about the guy in the mall being the actual Santa Claus. Most parents wind up doing this anyway, just because it gets too hard to keep the game going if you have to pretend that all the guys in red suits are actually Santa.

2013-12-24 03:55:50 PM
"Oh, you want the REAL Santa.  He stays in back for special kids while the phony Santas deal with all the white kids."

There, solved.

But if Black Santa gets to the front of the sleigh, he won't be happy anymore.

This society needs a priority reboot.

"Priority" in this case works simultaneously as both noun and adjective.

I'm getting a beer.

This, although blackface Robert Downey Jr(tropic thunder) as Nelson Mandela would be funny

Correct, he's the typical Greek who lives at the North Pole with elves and reindeer.

Notice the kid is smiling and hugging santa, it takes the adults to turn that into something racial.

Yay; horrible joke time!

Do you know why Santa isn't black? How long do you suppose it would take someone to shoot a black guy breaking and entering?

Well St. Nicolas, the real guy who the fictional character of Santa is based on, was a Greek guy from the part of Greece that is now Turkey.

Here is a painting of him from the early 1500's:

So who's more accurate? They person saying he was black or the person saying he was white?

Black Santa seems...ecstatic... With the white girl reporter sitting on his lap. just saying black Santa has a good job.

which reminds me.. To be krampus for next Christmas party. Nobody cares about krampus' skin color. Farking aholes.

It's the DailyFail, so I'm now convinced that Santa is real.

Seriously, why does anyone take these assholes at face value? The DailyFail is essentially the same as the National Enquirer, but without the journalistic integrity.

He'd get pulled over before he ever got to the chimney.

I guess I don't get the sudden rage of "santa is white". Of course he is. He has been depicted that way for hundreds of years. He is also a fictional character.

The whole debate is as silly as saying Clifford the dog is blue. You can say and wish it that way all you want, but the fact is Clifford is red.

Based on the three main skull shapes, I'm going with Caucasian (Caucasoid).

This. I was thinking along the same lines. Roughly that Santa has always been depicted as a Greek guy with light colored skin since Coca Cola created his modern version. Now suddenly that's racist, eh?

The bible very clearly states that Santa is white. All of this "multi-cultural Santa" bullshiat is just typical liberal political correctness run amok. Study it out, sheeple.

No love for Kris Kringle this season?  Northern European version Santa is probably the most agreed upon Santa there is.  He's not real so much as made of the physical embodiment of all the qualities of a good person: generous, jolly, humorous, well fed (prosperous), etc.  More of a mascot than an actual person.  I'm sure the man of yore may parallel the lives some of the more saintly characters of christianity but he's still a thing of myth.  To those who would believe- he remains real.

And just how much sleep did you lose Christmas night searching the skies for Santa or postulating how he had gotten down the chimney?  Was color even an issue at the time?

Read the story.
Pissed me off.
So glad I've never spent any money at macy's.
/got one at the mall down the road, only use it as a pass thru to get to the sporting goods store.

I like the look of the Macy's black santa more, he looks more jolly for some reason.

Well if kids see two Santas at the same location, it would ruin the fantasy that there's only 1 Santa.
