Really, this is the only Christmas special you should ever watch

I don't remember this one.  But my daughter and I are watching now.  Kudos to subby.

I'm glad you love it. I grew up (born in 89) with this on VHS. One of my favorite Christmas specials I've ever seen. I hope your daughter loves it too :D

I grew up with John Denver and the Muppets: A Christmas Together.  Very difficult to find a good version since (AFAICT) it was never released on VHS/DVD.  The soundtrack is all kinds of awesome, even though I generally don't listen to John Denver.

Daughter didn't watch much Sesame Street or Fraggle Rock growing up (she's 11) but loves watching the Muppet Show.  She's enjoying it so far.

I assume this is one of the very few times (other than a few other movies?) where the S.S. and Muppet Show characters actually got "together" (and throw in the Fraggles).

I was 16 when this came out, but I still enjoyed watching it with my dopey family.

We've watched this a few times in the past couple weeks. I, uh, obtained it after reading a write-up on the AV Club. My 2-year-olds love it, although it gets a little dark when the Swedish Chef tries to slaughter Big Bird for Christmas dinner.

Uncut muppets are the best kind. They are not unclean, as is commonly believed.

That, and a live action version of the Muppet Babies. But what a crossover: Bert and Ernie engaging in small talk- animal digging Cookie Monster...

But that Turkey need some kind of punishment... Especially for setting up Big Bird to be killed.

This show is the one and only reason we keep the VCR plugged in the TV all year. Bust this bad boy out each year thanks to my wife having taped it back in the day.

Whar DVD? WHAR?!

Don't know or care. The software on my desktop will rip it to an mkv file no matter what the region coding is.

This is one of my favorite Xmas specials, and better than any other Muppet Xmas by a mile, including the otters and the Scrooge knockoff.

LOL

Thanks for this, subby!

Ever since I adopted my nieces (5 and 6) I've been introducing them to the good TV I grew up with. Streamed this to the TV and they got all excited. Utterly flipped when they recognized Doc and Sprocket from Fraggle Rock.

I teared up a little seeing Jim Henson again.

No this is the special where all the other Muppets ride a train on Ernie and Elmo gives Jim Henson a special Christmas Felching....

Ernie: "A little old driver, so tiny and quick. I knew it my heart it must be...Saint Nick!"

*two-headed monster walks out dressed as Santa*

Sam the Eagle: :-O "...Is nothing sacred?"

one of my favorite moments in that whole special
