ElwoodCuse: They weren't going to waste money starting the whole movie over from scratch

The movie was already at $200m at the time of his death. Scrapping the movie and starting over would have made it the most expensive film ever made by a large  margin.

They should just use a CGI Paul Walker for the remainder of the films they make..

Slaves2Darkness: They have made 7 FF movies? Fark.

There's a few series out there that started bad and got better as they kept working on it.  I'd consider the Resident Evil series among those (though I think the latest was a step backwards).  But Fast 5 was when it became less about street racing and more about getaways and giant heists, and it's actually become pretty decent.

And trust me, I get shunning the series.  Only after hearing how much better it was getting did I cave and watch the movies over a few weeks that were rentable (except Tokyo Drift, because fark that film).

CGI Paul Walker would be a better actor.

I heard that it was already labeled a summer sizzler.

Naw that's not creepy at all.

I think most actors would want their final projects to go forward rather than be shelved.  Even if it's "Street Fighter".

Raul Julia had some lines in that we still quote on Fark; maybe something with no redeeming qualities like  Catwoman or Transformers 2would be a better example?

cgraves67: Heath Ledger's untimely demise demonstrated that dead celebrities are cash cows. It will be this way from here on out.

I didn't think The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus made that much money?

saw what you did there.

Oh, wah.

If I die in the middle of coding something complex, they're not just going to toss it out and start over.  They'll probably even leave my name on the project out of respect.

I see nothing wrong with them doing what they're doing.

I guarantee the Estate of Paul Walker Inc. has NO issue with him being in a posthumous role.

You thought Resident Evil started bad? And then got better? First was good, the second was starting to show signs of age, the third I walked out of and I've never been back since.

kurlumbenus: Brandon Lee literally died because the prop department was cutting the budget on squibs. I don't remember anyone having a problem with using his footage.

Didn't they have like 80% of that film in the can already, though?

Ker_Thwap: After watching how vacuous Fast and Furious 1 was, I'm just astounded that people are still playing to see 2 through 100.

There's no competition. When someone decides to come out with non-vacuous car movies, we will watch those instead. Especially if there are boobs.

I'm sorry but wtf Fark? Since when are you so damn cynical about every damn thing lately. Sure your site is slowly going in the gutter, but perhaps change your attitude. I think all the fans and family would like for his last movie not to be in vein. Why not make use of his efforts instead of shelving it away? God this site makes me cringe sometimes. And yes I can leave whenever and no one will miss me. Yes I get that. Because that's all your all ever good for is cynical mean replies

There was a good Resident Evil movie?! I've tried watching several of them and despite having elements that should add up to at least decent eye candy/atmosphere, they suck so bad I end up changing the channel to watch almost anything else.

cwolf20: AteMyBrain: I had no idea it was considered disrespectful to show a non-living person in a movie. I'm going to contact Netflix right away so they can delete the 41,365,249 offending titles from their database immediately.

We must immediately storm forth in anger at the makers of the James Bond movie Skyfall.  They put a guy who looked like the original Q into the background

They did? Must have missed that.

They need to just turn this into a Walking Dead episode instead.  That way he could play the Paul Walker walker.

And if he came back as a zombie they could have dressed him up like Queen Victoria, that way he'd be an Imperial Walker walker.
