It was my understanding that we all chipped in for a One-Way Ticket . . . .

This notion would probably be entirely lost on him, but something about yukking it up and feasting with a dictator while his own people are starved, beaten and/or worked to death would be VERY akward to me.

People in the US starve, are beaten and have to work to death too, you know. The US corporations just have better PR.

So which former NBA players are going to go to NK to pretend to lose to Un and his hand-picked lackeys? I bet they will all be second-stringers who are desperate for money.

Rory Scott, a Paddy Power spokesman, said earlier this month that the trip is nonpolitical, but is intended "to prove once again that sport has the power to rise above all issues."

Well that's certainly a relief.  Mass starvation, indefinate internments in forced labor camps and political executions got you down?  No worries, because yaaaaaay sports!

Well, I'm glad he can see the good side to a dictator who just had his own uncle executed.

Couldn't we have gotten him on the "No-Fly" list while he was over there?

That would just strand him in China.  It's not like North Korea's going to not let him board a plane based on that.

That's what I was wondering, especially since Vice ran the HBO special that revealed that the whole thing was a ruse to get a Vice film crew into the country to report on what life is like there. Un must not get HBO.

No, I meant HERE

I was just thinking about him the other day. Wouldn't you assume that not only his phone but all his friend's phones are tapped? His homes and offices are probably bugged in the hopes that any little thing he lets slip about one of his visits would shed some sliver of light on something to do with his buddy over there in Best Korea.

That's good trollin'. Just the right amount of stupid to sound plausible without going into the realm of obvious troll. You got biters too.

The North Korean basketball team has that hunger in their bellies that makes them a formidable opponent.

Can't be worse than eating with a 1%'er in USA. At least Un would deny the poverty.

You're probably right about the secondstringers.

But it'll be mixed teams, so it doesn't matter who wins, as long they pass the ball to the Norks once in a while.

fark, I'd go. Adventure man. :)

I was going to say this was a foolish stupid statement, made by a foolish stupid person with no perspective, but having contemplated it, the US is a totalitarian state that is absolutely no different to North Korea. I have a friend who was shot crossing the Canadian border and his family was imprisoned. We are no different. It's just that General Motors has so much marketing that I couldn't tell.

And the clock starts. Best Korea to do bat guano crazy in 45 days or less.

Accepting wagers on nature of crazy.
Economic self-abuse is a no brainer.
1 will get you 2 on kinetic attack on Worst Korea.
Nuclear weapons test is not as likely, but lots of folks are picking that one.

Headline would be funnier if the USA didn't also execute people and didn't have the world's largest prison population by far.

Suede head: Headline would be funnier if the USA didn't also execute people and didn't have the world's largest prison population by far.

Oh yes, because it is exactly the same. And North Korea is a land of flowers, butterflies, and love for all. Unicorns dance and play by the kindness of the Dearest Little Kim.

/DPRK: a land of stunted, brainwashed racists, but there is always someone ready to defend them.
//"brainwashed racists" - but I repeat myself.
