I have been to winter NFL games in Buffalo, Green Bay, Philadelphia, New York and Chicago.

I swear Candlestick was colder than any of them.

Wow. Did Dallas just become the odds-on favorite to win the Super Bowl?

Wouldn't that be the cruelest irony of all? It might even be worth paying out a jersey on. Jackie Smith, right?

Yea, Jackie Smith.  I have little hope of this however.  Orton hasn't taken one snap or fired a shot in anger all year.

Sure there has been some great games in Candlestick but did you guys know Chris Berman was at Candlestick when Clark caught the "The Pass"?

Seriously, I know that Jack Montana guy played there and Bill Welch coached some pretty damn good teams but Chris "Boomer" Berman was actually AT THE STADIUM when San Fran beat Dallas that day.

Gives me chills just thinking about the Boomer being there - what a thrill it must have been for the 49ers and their fans.

I had to mute the damn pre-game show because they all were sucking so much 49er nugget it made me sick, convinced Seattle was not going to even make it through the wild card round, praising Harbaugh and Kaepernick for leading them to the #1 seed in the NFC.

So ESPN was on one of those random sports shows earlier, and the commentator was talking about what Dallas needs to do this weekend to win. Which boiled down to "lean on DeMarco Murray", and that makes some kind of sense. Then they asked him how many touches you have to give Murray out of 65-70 plays or whatever it was, and the commentator, with a straight face, said "35, 40, maybe even 45". I laughed out loud, then laughed some more. And when I was done, laughed even more. It's like the commentators have A. never seen a game of football in their lives, and B. Have zero knowledge about DeMarco Murray, the bastion of health.

Maybe the Pats can throw Amendola 30 passes a game too, right after DMC gets the call for every single play in a half.

Last year. it was Gus Bradley's godawful playcalling that hamstrung the team.  This year, it looks like Darrell Bevell is taking his turn.  Yeah, Wilson didn't do so well, but he was asked to throw deep, repeatedly, while he was under siege.  The Hawks have always worked Wilson best with quick slants and heavy TE support, or passes out of the backfield.  But it seemed like Bevell wants Wilson to turn into the Dragon.

Oh, and also, I know Atlanta has a snowball's chance in hell, but go get 'em, guys.  I'll watch you all the way through the first quarter, when you'll be down 35-0.

I'm glad someone else noticed that.  There was one pass on 3rd and 1 with 10 yards of open field in front of him, and Wilson threw a pass.  I assumed it was voices in his head.  I can only hope he notices that on film review and decides he needs to take matters into his own hands rather than follow what his coach wants when the receivers couldn't even catch a cold.

It won't even require the Seahawks to crap the bed again. Theoretically, if both the 5 and 6 seeds win their first round games (certainly not out of the realm of possibility given how crappy the NFC North/East teams are) and the 6 seed beats the Seahawks, the Niners (assuming they beat the 2 seed, which they will) would host the NFC Championship game.

Niners-Saints rematch, this time with the Niners' offense fully operational? I can dig it.

They had the same goddamned game plan against the Giants, too.  I do get the sense they are trying to get teams to back off of Lynch, but they just don't have the receivers to get up there and get the ball all that often.  Wilson needs more quick routes and back shoulder throws.  Let Lynch get snowplowed at the line.  He'll eventually wear them down.  Hell, bring in Michael, too, for extra bruising.  I have no idea why they keep trying to bomb it.

Wilson did make some mistakes.  He had a lot of running room in front of him early in the game that would have gotten a first down.  Instead, he threw it to Baldwin, who couldn't keep it intact all the way out of bounds.  I think that's the play you're mentioning.
