Best guess: They're Rayon

A while ago, there was a craze in the US with bamboo based clothing/towels and such...

The FTC had a thing or two to say about them:

Any cellulose will do for Rayon...regardless, you'll still process it with a bunch of NaOH and other fun chems...

The headline had me remembering a comment somebody made once about Canada... either Wilde or Shaw... about the tragedy of Canada being that it could have had French cuisine, British culture, and American technology. Instead it got British cuisine, American culture, and French technology.

Rayon is nice and silky smooth for when I am led through the neighborhood handcuffed and shackled wearing a leather dog collar in pink ladies panties during a gay bondage sex session. Oh, God! I'm hard already!

I came here to ask more or less that.  Would it be politically incorrect to ask what processes are undergone, the chemicals consumed, and any byproducts produced in order to accomplish this?

Shirts made from Modal (beech tree based fiber) are pretty comfy, but while it still feels OK after a couple of years, its looking kind of shabby, showing signs of wear. I don't wear them out much anymore, like if I'm dressing up to go shopping at Walmart

I'm not sure it's as durable as cotton fibers

Not sure if Pine wood would make a difference.
