The photos in the article were boring as hell. They could have been taken anywhere in Asia. Only the giant mural of Kim in the background gives any evidence of anything out of the ordinary.

If he's 'officially' allowed to act as a photojournalist there, I have to wonder how censored or self-censoring he is.

Really? It wasn't some dumb chick taking pictures of her food?

I'm shocked.

They have Heinekens in Best Korea? They can't be all that bad.

I was hoping that he was at least technically competent, but he's not even that.  All but two of those look like he shot them out of a moving car or very carelessly.  He may be a good photographer, but the examples they gave are truly lousy technically, compositionally, and for subject matter.

Son, I am disappoint.

Instagram would be cool if you could post nudes, I don't understand why anyone would use it otherwise.

that smarmy article was wrong in so many ways. you all have pointed out the lack of talent of the photographer but all that gushing about how great instagram is almost made my puke.

Most pictures of everyday life in Best Korea have to be taken from moving vehicles, while your minder isn't looking.

Otherwise both you and the subjects of those pictures risk spending some time at camp 14.

Oh, cool. I've always wanted to see what people eat in North Korea.

Look, subby, you don't get to force the "trifecta" meme by using the same catchphrase in multiple unrelated submissions. Not even if it has an XKCD tie-in.

I would expect that.  But I would not expect that photographer to be named The Best Photographer On Instagram.
