This will either be horribly awesome or awesomely horrible.

I was on the fence on whether this will be good or lame, but I think that's because I was riding the high still from Breaking Bad and had over the top expectations for 'Saul' to be equally awesome.  Now that some time has passed I think it will be a good show for what it is.  The news that writers from BB are joining the team strengthens that thought.

It'll either be Frasier or AfterMASH. I'm betting on the latter.

Breaking Bad was awesome, in large part, because of the 2 leads. Odenkirk was a good supporting player and comic relief, but I don't see him as a tentpole for a whole series.

Will episodes be 30 or 60 minutes? There would have to be one hell of a supporting cast to carry the latter.

Eeyup. Me too.

Every show has to have good writing to stand a chance. It's the foundation that everything else stands on and news that former BB writers are on board plus the promise of ever delightful Bob O every week have me feeling it's chances of succeeding are growing.

It won't be "the next Breaking Bad" per se but it will no doubt have a loyal following from the get go. Where it goes from there is anybody's guess.

I've gone from being cautiously optimistic to fearing was gonna suck to actively anticipating it since it was announced.

Never heard of it.

Skyler needs her own show too.

I know what you're saying here, and while it absolutely SHOULD be true, a quick glance at some of TV's most popular fare would prove that your statement is resoundingly false.

No one thought Frasier was enough premise for a series, either.  The trick is the supporting cast and the subplots to round out the character.  If they don't manage that then it won't work.

The make or break part of the show depends not on Bob, but the casting decisions of the characters that will be around him.

My picks: Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Matt LeBlanc, John Ratzenberger and Malcolm-Jamal Warner

Now that they've added, what?, two or three more producers, all the show needs is David Cross to be a hit.

60 minutes and it takes place -before- the events of Breaking Bad

Saul had no doubt hundreds (or even thousands) of sleazy clients over the many years he practiced.

The question though, is: Whether he had high-profile ones like Walt that we'll see recur or follow or whether it'll be like Law and Orde where we'll focus on one client each week ala Law & Order, but for sleazeballs.

I'd like to hope that each week we follow a new client (or just, different client) with higher-profile ones being followed as a season-long thing.

But really, it depends on the supporting cast on how good the show will be.

I hope it's wacky. No, zany. Maybe both.

that's all you....I couldn't stand a show with that character at the lead, I would throw too many things at the TV.  If she was written to be not likeable then hats off to the writers for a job well done.

Walt does some shady things to provide for his family while facing his potential fast approaching death.  Sure he was a bit stand-offish but he never seemed malicious to his family.

Skylar working on partial information goes out and blatantly has an affair and throws it in Walt's face.

I know, I know, but websites really still say " Hit the jump?"

/the show is gonna be awesome if it's half-as-good as Odenkirks's web series
//It's already leaked that the spin off will have some of the BB characters in it...
