Can't they find the criminals through some DNA analysis of the spray tan left on the seats?

I dont think theres such a car as a IROC Z28 right? IIRC it was just IROC-Z, a Z28 was a different model.

That's not spray tan... The car jackets that dark naturally.

I think stealing cars is illegal as well.  Maybe if we got rid of those laws too, car thefts would decrease.  Or better yet, everyone should have a car, that way no one would have the need to take anyone elses.

Needs to be updated. They arrested four people in association with the carjacking / killing that occurred last weekend.

IROC, from what I recall, is an acronym for International Race of Champions.  They made a Dodge Daytona IROC if I remember correctly.  So an IROC logo was placed on the Z-28, so therefore, not all Z-28's are IROC's, but all IROC's are Z-28's given we are only discussing Chevrolet's, which is given since this it was inferred that a guido will only drive an Camaro.

The four gentlemen arrested appear to be attractive and successful.
Well, up until their arrests, at least.

If you're over thirty and still carjacking as a source of income or amusement, it may be time to take a serious look at how your life is progressing. But then, if you're a resident of New Jersey, maybe you've already given up...

Well, the murder rate in 2012 was 4.4/100,000 people, same as Texas. And in 2006, according to the easiest to find data on census.gov, the violent crime rate per 100,000 was 352 vs 516 in Texas. And according to the FBI, the three "most dangerous states" in America last year were Tennessee, Alaska and Nevada. The top ten states for gun violence were all states with very lax gun control laws, mostly in the south and midwest.

Seems to be working okay for them. Any more dumb questions that are completely unrelated to the article, or would you like to adjust your childish sense of persecution to another topic?

Yep. The IROC was an upgrade to the Z28. It was mostly suspension upgrades, but I think there were a couple of engine tweeks too. A buddy of mine had an 88 IROC, which was the year the IROC upgrades became standard on the Z28 and the car was called the IROC-Z. It was a fun car. Decent power and great handling for the price. It's not zero tolerance or minimum sentences that are the problem. It's It's moran officials (whether school administrators or prosecutors) who interpret the rules and laws in an obscenely, bordering on criminal, overzealous manner. No weapons in school. Good zero tolerance rule. The problem comes when some idiot decides a butter knife or a sandwich chewed into the shape of a gun is a weapon. Same goes for minimum sentencing. Prosecutors obscenely twist the interpretation of the law to charge someone who sprinkles glitter in a mall with a terrorist attack.

My friend had an 86 5-speed, and it had a carburetor, however my other friend that had an 87 or 88 and it had the TPI engine, so yes, you are correct.  I remember they had problems with the t-tops because of the torque, and can't remember when they did away with them.  It was probably 88 if that's what your friend had.  These cars handled like no other for it's time.  They used to scare the shiat out of me. I always wanted one.  Maybe they did away with the t-tops because oily hair and water don't mix.  I would guess that they had the same engine as the TA GTA .

The '86 had the TPI engine as an option. T-Tops were optional throughout that chassis' production run (and into the following body style in the mud-1990's). Chassis flex was accounted for in the engineering of that platform, as T-Tops were intended from the start.
