I bet the TV wasn't worth more than 100$ at a pawn shop. Can they bump the charges up to home invasion since someone was home?

I guess he figured that he was already black, so he would be identified no matter what.

Stupidity. The smart ones never get caught for a reason. These morons don't understand that.

If he'd dedicated the same time and effort to going to school that he did to body decoration he might have had a chance at life.

I had an attempted home invasion four nights ago, so I'm getting a kick....scared them off before they got in, but it's not something I want to experience again.

Most states have something similar to burglary of an occupied dwelling. It gives the criminal a whole new round of prizes.

Hopefully the parents don't mimic the attitude of convenience store managers:

'By fighting back, you create a more dangerous situation. We're going to have to let you go because you're a liability.'

....

And now that I'm a parent (kidlet is 5 weeks old), if I came home and found out my babysitter had defended the house and kid (prevented injury to the kid, prevented a kidnapping, etc), I would do everything in my power to ensure the babysitter received a nice, big bonus.

But they wouldn't be brass then, they would've been bronzed before she put them on her little knick knack shelf.

A better headline would have said she should expect a phone call from the third robber...from inside the house.

Buy a dog. Then the babysitter won't need to be a hero. A 20lb puplet will scare more crooks than a 100lb babysitter.

A dog--even a little one--is a great alarm system. One Tuesday afternoon I was sitting in my living room and my 10-lb shih tzu ran toward the kitchen barking like crazy. I look and there is a guy standing in the kitchen--he had taken the glass out of the back window and crawled in and I never heard a thing. If not for the dog he could have been right in the room with me before I knew he was there.

I'm sure if they had any sort of education past 5th grade, they wouldn't need to break into a home for a cheap flat screen.
