Look out! It's an old man who sneaks into children's homes when they're asleep!

Not news:  It was a yeshiva.

Moody added it is "sad we live in a world now that you have to be vigilant and cautious about anything that's out of the ordinary or a little strange."

You know you actually don't, right?  I mean, you really don't.

Random dude in a Santa outfit knocking on the windows of an elementary school?

Yeah, I can't fault the school admins for being cautious.

Unfortunately, when we live in a world where people sue over their kid's finger getting caught in a sugar dispenser, everyone is afraid to take any "risk". Guaranteed a parent would have complained if the school not done anything.

Seriously, any pervert can dress up and pretend to be kid "friendly"

It's sad we live in a world where dumbasses run the schools and where anything out of the ordinary is cause for alarm.

Nod.  If it were just some dude walking down the sidewalk outside of school grounds while waving at the kids and the school panicked like this, I'd want to see some school administrators fired.  But it sounds as if the guy came onto school grounds without permission and started knocking on random windows.  That's not cool.

I imagine that had this happened when I was a kid, one of the teachers would have probably opened a window so they could chew the guy out for disrupting class while telling him to get the fark off of school grounds.

It's December 20th, this happened yesterday.  I don't really think a Santa wandering around is considered "out of the ordinary."

If the dude wants to spread Christmas cheer he could contact the school to volunteer to host an assembly or something, not randomly show up like a creep. If i had a kid I wouldn't want them near this guy.

Indeed. You either have to be profoundly stupid, creepy, or mentally ill to be so far out of touch with the reality of schools today to think this sort of thing would be acceptable.

Sounds like some awesome "Freedom" you got going on there.
What the fark is wrong with you when someone can't just have some harmless, random Santa fun?

Yeah. it's only like that because of arseholes like you who are scared of their own shadow, and stupendously over-protective parents who think everyone who isn't them is a pedo. fark them. fark them all. Yay for random Santa fun.

It doesn't matter WHAT a person is dressed up as, coming onto school property and knocking on windows is not okay. The school absolutely did the right thing in being cautious.
This guy might have had no ill intentions, but anybody can put on a Santa suit - including school shooters or sex offenders.
It's interesting however that people dressed as Santa DO get a bit of a free pass with pretty much everything. If I had any interest in doing creepy pedo stuff or whatever I'd make a beeline for the costume shop.

Don't worry, Hollis is full of well-to-do parents who will insist on an armed security guard to take out random merry old elves.

What's scary is that there seems to be no procedure to deal with random strangers on campus (such as walking up to them and talking to them) other than placing the entire school on lockdown.

I just wrapped up portraying Santa. I mostly play Santa at office parties, and the brewery pays me to bar hop at our draft accounts.
Ive been involved with the profesional Santa scene for about seven years now.

Even I, and I'm sure all of brethern of the suit would find this a farked up situation.

"Santa is very bad man! He wants the children to sit on his lap? He sees you when you're sleeping? He knows if you're naughty or nice? What is he, spy? Where I come from, that is very bad man! If I caught Santa watching my daughter sleep in her bed, I would shoot him!"

Seeing Santa in a mall maybe, but wandering around outside of a school? Yes, that is out of the ordinary.

If the news is to be believed, you're going to get mugged as soon as you step outside. That may color people's perception about the kind of world we live in.
