"...Girls [in our all-girls school] like girls who look pretty."

Huh.  One more thing I have in common with Korean schoolgirls.

It's not like we can tell the difference?  Hell, I'm not even sure I can accurately tell the difference between Thai men and women anymore.

Hopefully they aren't doing that creepy Glasgow smile modification.

The process usually doesn't involve self-mutilation (although there are exceptions)

To be fair, some of those wall posters were quite convincing.

I just put this out for my daughter and so she thinks I will get it for her so she won't go do something on her own. I'm such a great parent.

Did she open the Arc of the Covenent or something?

In the heart of Seoul's famous Gangnam neighborhood lies the "Beauty Belt," a grouping of streets lined with hundreds of cosmetic surgery joints.

Thanks, PSY!

I saw a report on people who became addicted to plastic surgery.  One woman just couldn't understand why doctors were refusing to operate on her.  She looked damn weird.

Plastic surgery gone bad is hilarious. Sorry, it really is. Vanity can extract a terrible and funny price.

//Cosmetic reconstruction for non-plastic surgery reasons obviously excepted.

Judging from the ancedata I have come across when meeting real-life lesbians, this does not seem to be true.

My Healthcare insurance company provided me with a whole DIY appendectomy/splenectomy transplant kit complete with keyhole surgery map. I think there's a lifehacking article to do a DIY chin lift with it using a hair dryer and an ice cream scoop.

South Korea...

Yeah...I'm done.

At this point, well to be honest even before this point, it is pure mental illness.  This is an extreme but remember there are plenty of hack surgeons who will be happy to mutilate you for the dollars.  Want your third new nose, no problem even if you end up like Micheal Jackson.  What is sad is some hack surgeon who is the best you can hope for, these DIY patients are just going to be ruined all in the name of beauty.  All I can see is mental illness, as obviously there is no beauty involved.

You must have the 'good' insurance.  When I tried to file for an emergency prostate cancer surgery, they shipped me a barbecue fork and a hungry ferret.

Aesthetics are a moral imperative.

I've had better luck with a desoldering pump and an inflation needle. Be sure to wipe off any visible soil on the needle, turns out the one I used picked up MRSA from a football and the doctors had to remove part of my face. The infection plus hospital food is very slimming.

Such a huge percentage of a population that hates itself.

Maybe they want a wealthy Korean man and not your stereotypical XXXL dragon-shirt wearing geek.

That one is a shame because I would have wrecked before so bad Gordon Lightfoot would write a song about it. After not even with subby's stolen dick.

It will be just like shopping on Amazon... scalpels ship free as an add-on item for orders of $25 or more!

I'd put more blame on advertising than the movies.  Open a magazine or go through any store that sells beauty supplies and all you'll see are Photoshopped images of models.

Most people who get surgery are insecure about themselves. It is the opposite of vanity.

Great movie, but the ending kinda came out of left field.

Vanity is an extreme form of insecurity.
