The only thing nerdier than Fantasy football is Fantasy baseball.

that applies to football in general.

I don't own the Arizona Cardinals. I don't play for the Arizona Cardinals. They are a local team and I watch them. There is no "we" in Arizona Cardinals football. It's "them". Or "those farking idiots".

FF is nerdy, but there really are football games being played that cause the outcome of FF games.

Not quite the same as rolling die hoping the elf in your mind gets sodomized by the succubus

This analogy has always bothered me.

Fantasy football there is no input by the person. They set their lineup, draft, make trades. It's mostly passive.

D&D is much more active. Assigning stats, feats, skills, spells, not to mention actual tactical placement during combat.

Crazy people on the 'net get unhinged and start anger posting over the oddest things. People here completely lost their minds and went off the damned rails when Nelson Mandela passed away and some admin greenlit the wrong headline.

I am all for being a piece of shiat when it come to fantasy football. It's just fun to trash talk. However, you being an asshole should only be confined to whatever league you are in.

It's insanely stupid to tweet the players with your rage. What's the point?

On a different note, has any player that doesn't suck come out with their hate for FF? I would think the ramblings of a butthurt FF team manager could easily be ignored or laughed at. It seems like their tired of being reminded that they suck at what they are doing. I would be too.

2013-12-20 01:33:35 PM
Seriously? The wide receivers I have suck balls.  I'd skate this weekend if I had CJ.  Instead I'm worrying about WTF Torrey and two receivers to be named later doing anything for me this weekend.  But I do have a few not-so-secret weapons to hopefully do something this weekend.

Nerd. Noun. a single-minded enthusiast: somebody who is considered to be excessively interested in a subject or activity that is regarded as too technical or scientific.

I'd say they qualify.

I am as well, thank you J. Charles!

In all reality though, these people that are biatching are just degenerate gamblers that have an outlet to vent to what they perceive that which caused their loses. Gamblers tend to do this in general everywhere, 'You didn't deal the cards I needed', 'You are cheating but I don't know how'. I imagine if horse jockeys had Twitter they'd get lambasted as well.

Does it make it right? No, of course not. It is an insight into the quality of character though.

I hate Fantasy Football because it gets people to root against their own team. I had a buddy say, "I hope the Bears defense sucks this week" in order to get more points. I said I just want them to win, and he said, "well, me too, but I want them to win in a shootout".

It's farking stupid.

I have a play-by-email version based on the most recent living rulebook of that. My Yvresse Towers High Elf team was unstoppable!

Some people are in leagues that they pay money for and get a nice payout if they win. That type of thing would drive people to get a little emotional when money is on the line. Especially in the leagues where the entry costs are in the thousands and the payouts are in the thousands.

To funny and scary..

Calvin Johnson totally farked me in the balls with MOnday nights game.  I lost by 5 points.  His drops and the Lions retarded reasoning to run the ball killed me.

Still...in the end life goes on.  I really only care about my team and them winning.

Yeah, but FF players don't even have to do anything. So it's just as nerdy and far more lazy.

If my team had barely squeaked in to the playoffs and lost in the first round, I wouldn't care. Since my team led the league all season and clobbered most of my opponents, I would have been pissed off with an early playoff exit.. Thankfully, I'm in the championship game.

And what about the clever tweets to underperforming players that get lost in all this? All the threats Chris Johnson may have received in 2011 totally overshadowed my suggestion that he change his nickname from "Sonic the Hedgehog" to "Loading Screen."
