As they should. I don't like Arcade Fire, and I do like Fleetwood Mac, but this just stands to reason. Let it go, people from the past, you are becoming less relevant to the now. That is how things work.

Arcade Fire is bigger than The Platters, too.

2013-12-20 09:53:31 AM
I like both bands, the difference being that I wouldn't pay money to see Fleetwood Mac these days.

/in the 70s? Sure.

2013-12-20 09:54:05 AM
In addition to being a bigger draw they're also more relevant as they're still producing chart topping albums (though I'm pretty luke warm on Reflektor).

/saw Lindsey Buckingham at a festival two summers and thought he was great
//have Arcade Fire tickets for an upcoming show

I'm getting old. Not because I'd  prefer Fleetwood Mac over Arcade Fire (esp. if Christine McVie is really coming back), but because I thought that Glastonbury was still all about hippies.

I have enormous respect for Fleetwood Mac but they haven't done anything with mainstream significance in 35 years. Arcade Fire have released four critically acclaimed albums in the last 10 years and have a large a large (and growing) fan base.

RINO: ...who?

I know you think you're saying that you're above it all and these hipster bands that people under 50 listen to are beneath you. But the message you are really sending is that you're  insular, out of touch and, apparently, unaware of google.

I'm only in my twenties. Sorry if I seem insular and out of touch, but I don't go searching for random stuff to listen to. I don't have that kind of free time. If it doesn't come over the radio while I'm driving, I won't have heard it.

They're found mostly on alt-rock stations. Not that hard to find, if you like that kind of music.Definitely hard to find if you primarily listen to country, dinosaur rock, or Boston Pops.

/Arcade Fire is decent.  Beats the living hell out of godforsaken Coldplay. <flame=on>

fleetwood mac is still a great band, and still has a huge, if aging, following. however, they have not produced a major selling album since i was a kid.

arcade fire is a modern band with many young fans and a quickly growing following. they have released major selling albums in recent years, including reflektor just a couple months ago

therefore, it most definitely makes sense for a.f. to be headlining instead of f.m.

Then here's some sincere advice from someone in their 40's:

1) Don't put ignorance on display. It's never an endearing quality especially in a world where information is so readily available with so little effort. I'm not suggesting you shouldn't express your opinion, but make sure your opinion is supported by some knowledge.

2) Continually broaden your horizons, an doing so is never a waste of your time. Don't turn into one of those sad people who haven't listened to any new music since they graduated high school in 1977, or who only listen to one genre of music. Cultural tribalism is for children and the uneducated.

i would assume that with goats having such a huge association with satanism/cultish antics, that there would be pics of goats in ceremonial hooded robes, at least, that would be similar enough
