I'm conflicted about this

2013-12-20 07:58:22 AM
No, he's making Kill Bill 3, Kill Bill 4 and Kill Bill 5, each of which will be three and a half hours long.

2013-12-20 08:04:56 AM
But what about all of the actors and actresses he's breeding for the project?

2013-12-20 08:07:48 AM
I thought it was going to be the little girl now grown up avenging her mother (Vivica Fox), hunting down Uma Thurman?

Kill The Bride?

Uma ain't gettin' any younger!

How could there be a "Kill Bill" 3 when Bill is DEAD (both in Vol 2 and in real life?)

2013-12-20 08:17:01 AM
Well thank God for that. I hate it when the movie police force me to go to a theater, pay money and watch something I don't want to.

2013-12-20 08:17:34 AM
Just make Pulp Fiction 2 Electric Boogaloo already.

2013-12-20 08:22:24 AM
Technically, there was never a Kill Bill 2.  Just one movie they cut into two parts.

2013-12-20 08:32:48 AM
I guess it's cool to hate on Tarantino now?  I liked both Kill Bill movies.  In fact I think the only one of his movies I didn't like was 'Death Proof'.  Look, if you are going to one of his movies (which no one is forcing you to do) and expecting Citizen Kane then you have a distorted view of film making or you have never seen one of his movies.   You go expecting foul language, blood, sex and Samuel Jackson, Michael Parks and/or Michael Madsen to show up...nothing more.

This idea that every movie has to be the best ever is ridiculous.  I heard a lot of people complaining about Pacific Rim this summer saying the 'story' was terrible.  Guess what?  It was a movie about giant alien monsters coing through a portal from another world and we fight them with giant robots.  Did you get that in the movie? Yes.  Who gives a f*** if the human part of the story was bad, the movie ended with a 30-45 minute fight that was better than the entire Transformers series?  Did I get my 10 bucks worth?  Damn right.

Sometimes it is nice to go to the movies and just enjoy them....

He's right. I just searched this page for all those words and they all came up.

Meh.  I thought Jackie Brown was better than Pulp Fiction anyways.  Never saw Basterds, Death Proof or Django, and no plans to.  Now, when Soderberg and Cameron make a sequel to Solaris, let me know.

/Where's my digitally remastered anniversary edition DVD of Solaris?

Kill Kiddo

Yup. I remember my friends talking up the scene where she tells Vernita Green's daughter to find her when she grows up as setting up a distant sequel where she gets her revenge, and maybe with Bebe confronting her for a final fight.

I thought it would be Uma's daughter vs the black chick's daughter (she offed in the very first scene), they're about the same age.  So ten years sounds about right.

Kill B 3 (Beatrice)

I always thought the the blind Elle could be an evil mentor to the daughter of Vernita Green who is now seeking vengeance for her mother's death.

2013-12-20 08:59:21 AM
Huh.  I guess Uma's feet aren't as photogenic as they used to be.

That could be a movie. Except Beatrix Kiddo doesn't have an army of minions for the girl to fight through.

May I be the first to officaly tell Subby to go suck eggs.

KB 1 was outstanding, 2 was good.

I am sure he will change his mind and do 3 eventually. As long as it what others have mentiuoned here where the girl comes for uma and the movie focuses on said girl, I'm there day one.

There wasn't really a good way for Elle to get out of Budd's trailer: besides being covered in tobacco spit and toilet water, she was beaten up and blind. I guess she could have found her mobile phone and dialed by touch in a deus ex machina sort of event but that seems a little thin. (Yes, I know it's Tarantino.)

Englebert Slaptyback: a deus ex machina sort of event

her son(?) could have got her. she told him to smoke some pot and she'd be home soon, just before she got to the trailer.

no. she calls bill after she kills bud.

I want the Resevoir Dogs sequel he talked about where Travolta's character from Pulp Fiction and Mr. White from Dogs are brothers and the movie follows them as the go around taking out people (he also implied he would completely ignore the fact that they each died in the previous movies)

Bud's boss swings by to see why he's not at work.  Takes Elle home (and does bad things to her).  Elle, being Elle, over comes her blindness like Master Poh, has her revenge, collects minions and is found by Vernita's daughter, who she trains as her apprentice.

Beatrice collects her own minions and trains them (and her daughter) into an army of do gooders  (think The Equalizer with ninja skills).

Of course there's an epic final battle between the two armies.

She consoling someone about being upset that someone died and Beatrix Kiddo is the most recently deceased.  I just assumed she was talking to him and going t Bud to get the details.

The rumor I heard was a prequel and Travolta and what's his face are too old to pull that off now.

All of those terms are correct.  That doesn't mean he doesn't make good films.

I just watched the movie about a month ago, but now I can't remember exactly what happened when. I don't remember anything about anyone being upset about someone being dead.

I just looked at the script and you're 100% right it seems.

guess I was wrong about that for all these years.

There are certainly problems with QT's movies, but not with his eye or ear: soundtrack choices are usually spot-on, and, other than a few older directors like Malik, no one uses a movie screen better. Sit in the first five rows, ignore the plot, and just watch the pictures go by. Old-timey movie goodness in a world of pointless close-ups, jump cuts, and loud noises.

WTF are you talking about, Subby?

I hope you never find love.

2013-12-20 11:36:07 AM
I had a friend that worked for Miramax right after Pulp Fiction was released, and he said they basically had to put him on ice for a few years because he thought he was Orson Welles, and kept bringing in shiat scripts insisting they were the next great movie.

So a reporter asked Tarantino about a sequel to a revenge movie in which revenge was thoroughly taken and all the villains are dead and he said no. How is this even a story?

I've enjoyed everything he's done that I've seen.

So there.

I kind of wondered that too. Let's also point point out he isn't remaking A Miracle on 34th Street and Driving Miss Daisy so this story can have more staying power.

waterrockets: I've enjoyed everything he's done that I've seen.

Same here.  He never claimed to be making the best movies ever, but he always delivered on making something that was uniquely different from the rest of Hollywood, even if it recycles a lot of elements from older movies.  Anytime there is more variety to choose from, that is always a good thing.  I enjoyed his movies not because they're particularly great, but they are certainly memorable and leave powerful impressions.  I didn't like "Pulp Fiction" the first time I saw it because many scenes were off-putting and the story didn't make a whole lot of sense, but so many infamous scenes got embedded in my mind throughout the years, so when I watched it again a few years later, I finally enjoyed the hell out of it.

This is a good thing. I love what he does and prefer he not revisit stories that already ended. Looking forward to the new western, double that if he gets Kurt Russel involved again.

If you actually watched the movie, you could clearly see that there was a clear sequel set up in the story, where the daughter of Vivica Fox's character would take revenge on Beatrix Kiddo and/or her daughter a decade or so later.

Well, it's a decade later, hence the reason a reporter brought up the subject.

2013-12-20 01:29:20 PM
Kill Bill was a decent movie ruined by shiatty editing.  He should have cut the movie down to fit the 3hr limit, not add in all deleted scene garbage to pad it out to 2 movies

2013-12-20 02:08:27 PM
My favorite scene is the long cut shot when Beatrix is in the restaurant, and the following fights agaisnt the Crazy 88 and the sadistic little Japanese school girl.

First time we went to Pulp Fiction my friends and I were high on mushrooms. I swear the "flash" right after they shoot Brett lasted 5 minutes while the screen exploded with had a medley of dick dale and jimi hendrix guitar noise. Although I never had a problem understanding the story I was a little underwhelmed by that scene on repeat viewing..

Hit or miss, Tarantino's style keeps me coming back for more.
