Putin Tepes signs pardon in disappearing ink which will take full effect after opening ceremonies in Sochi.  Police have Khodorkovsky rearrested and transported in chains to Putin Tepes' throne.  Confusion ensues as Khodorkovsky manages to unshackle himself and escape from guards only to mysteriously impale himself on a stake in the middle of Red Square.  Kremlin has no comment on the turban nailed to Khodorkovsky's head.

Hail, King Putin the Kitten Kisser!  Hail to He that Puts the Seat Down!

Apparently he's set to release Pussy Riot from the slammer, too. Guess you've gotta look good for the Olympics.

See that is why the US is better. Oliver North sells weapons to Iran and he gets a radio show after his pardon. G. Gordon Libby gets involved in stealing secrets from the other party and he gets a radio show. In Russia you get an accident when they pardon you.

So what your  saying is Russia cleans up their mess instead of letting it linger?

You know, we may biatch and moan about our government, but our system with its checks and balances, free speech rights, and so on is so much better than living in a place where you can be thrown into jail for 10 years on trumped up charges for doing nothing more than funding the opposition.

I'd be lying if I said I thought Putin will die peacefully of old age in his own bed. Heck, he may not believe that either, being an old KGB agent, but probably only between bouts of ego. I don't even think he's reached that point where he feels his own humanity and attempts to atone for his wrongs.

At least his self-serving actions are this transparent to the rest of the world.

Or more precisely, after the closing ceremonies.

Funding the opposition, and tax fraud and embezzlement on a large scale -- which weren't even denied on his trial. But since he funded opposition groups and is generally more chubby with American interests, he should have been given a free pass.

Khordokovsky is as much of a crook as Putin; he was just on the losing side.

Theft, sex slave trafficking and probably murder, if you're curious.
