It even comes with its own shot glass.  :)

That's just wrong. NyQuil tastes WAY better than Jager.

I haven't had a cold for over three years. I just dumped processed food. I've tried getting a cold off family and friends, but it seems that for whatever reason there is, I just can't catch a cold. not that I miss having a cold - the chest infections I used to end up with three times a year are now a distant memory.
I don't touch fast food either - if I want it, I have to go into the kitchen and make it. I also cut meat right the way out too (for health reasons, fat too has been omitted from the diet)
So, forgive me if I laugh over the festive season if you have a cold.

Best cure for a cold is chicken noodle soup.

I'm also sick and putting in a 10 hour day, which is why I hoard Vicodin.

Which is why I never take too much Vicodin at one time. Ouch, dude. Hep A or just copious booze?

If I understand what the report said,  the "moderate" drinking monkeys were like that all day, then that's not moderate drinking, that's 10 drinks a day.

Random Anonymous Blackmail: Alcohol in itself is poison.. if you keep enough poison in your system germs cannot survive and you will never get sick.

Until that poison messes up your system.

Tobin_Lam: My boss calls light beer "cooking beer".

He must be a crappy cook. You use beer for flavor.

neversubmit: Might I suggest...

"The Art of Mixing" (1932) by Wiley and Griffith

OLD-FASHIONED WHISKEY COCKTAIL.

Grab a good sized heavy bottomed glass and put into it 4 dashes Angostura bitters, 1 cube of ice, 1 shot Rye Whiskey, 1 teaspoonful sugar. Stir well until sugar is dissolved, and squeeze lemon peel on top. Drop in a piece of fresh pineapple, a slice of an orange, and offer.

Most notable in this recipe, besides the fact that it doesn't include any water, is that pineapple joins the lemon and orange as a garnish. Decorating cocktails and various other mixed drinks with colorful fruits was fairly common. Some take it to the ridiculous extreme, but in many cases some bit of color and festive decoration was expected to be part of the experience.

Yep, my recipe is basically a simplified Old Fashioned. I always keep pineapple juice on hand (preferably fresh but canned will do just fine) and I didn't want to go to the trouble of squeezing a lemon or muddling sugar. So the natural sugar in the juice replaces the table sugar and the pulp provides a bit of texture to the drink. Tastes just as good and it helps me be lazy.

/also rye doesn't agree with me for whatever reason, so I'll stick with Bourbon

If your hangover is bad enough, you won't notice that you have a cold.

What are you, one of those "straight edge" people?

vodka: Astorix: The migraines I get from drinking just aren't worth it.

Do you get migraines even when drinking pure vodka?

Just about everything gives me migraines except pure alcohol.

Agrees.

The wife and I have been drinking about a pint, or 1-2 glasses of wine, about 5 times a week for a year now. We are never sick anymore. I know it's purely anecdotal, but it seems to work for us.
