Sure, why not.

Ooh, a Fox News Poll against Obama? Seems legit.

2013-12-19 10:49:31 AM
Yes.  In favor of a coalition government of Joe BIden, Sarah Palin, and a rabid beaver to be named later.

2013-12-19 10:50:40 AM
It means people need to stop watching Fox News.

Don't be ridiculous. The poll was conducted at dozens of Cracker Barrels all around the Midwest and the South. I'm sure it's a fair representation of how all (real) Americans feel.

It's still only the 19th here.

Does this greenlight mean the end of headlines like "Sarah Palin is automatically President and Barack Obama has to [insert action phrase here]"?

Only time will tell.

Did the poll take into account the people who disapprove because Obama didn't ram enough socialism down Republican throats?

Eh, for what it's worth they are probably right:

Which raises the question: So?

Let's see what bad things have driven those numbers this year: NSA spying program, government shutdown, ACA website rollout.

What has Obama accomplished this year: Fiscal cliff deal, Syria getting rid of chemical weapons, Iran dismantling it's nuke program, the shutdown seems to have ended any serious talk of defunding or repealing Obamacare, DOMA is gone, Guantanamo is closer to closing than ever, he's signing the first budget since 2009, and now that the filibuster is gone for appointments, will start getting to fill all those vacancies.

Yeah, seems like a terrible year for Obama.

It doesn't mean he has to leave the white house just yet.  It means the democrats will lose the senate.  Then we'll see what happens.

2013-12-19 11:16:05 AM
If Obama ever gets as low as Congressional approval rates, THEN we'll talk about getting rid of him.

To all of us.  We'll see who gets to occupy the white house in 2016.  After 8 years of failed presidency, people will be ready for some hope and change.

From an unskewed Fox News poll, so you know it's accurate.

Do you want to tell them most Americans don't think the president's liberal enough, or should we just keep that our little secret until after 2016?

I have a feeling that this is the year of the Greens.

No, I'm pretty sure Obama was derided for that phrase. Republicans wouldn't be expected to want it in 2016.

They wouldn't believe us anyway, so I don't think it matters.

I'm sure the good viewers of Fox News are willing to help him move out, maybe by lighting a Jesus-themed light on his front lawn to help him pack.

Obama, like Carter, is going to be vilified forever for doing difficult and necessary things the country has been putting off for decades.  If a republican gets elected in 2016, we can move back to putting off important long-term problems, and make a show of invading another country and not achieving anything by it.

After Bush & Obama, we are all still waiting

Snicker. See, he can't run again. So that's really funny.

As the Cuccinelli election has shown us, a majority of Americans want, nay demand, a further push to the right from our politicians.

Looks like we've no choice but to vote for a Republican next time around, right fellas?  Fellas?

So, a government shutdown orchestrated by Republicans, and an ACA rollout that would have gone smoother if state Republicans had done their damn jobs and set up their own sites...mean Obama's a bad President, according to Republican asshats?

The NSA is the closest thing to a legitimate issue the Republicans have biatched about his entire Presidency, but let's be real; the government has been doing the same kind of 'spying' for decades, accounting for technology. The absolute best we can hope for, until American politics takes a hard swing towards actual liberalism, is for the NSA to be quieter about it.

The Democrats aren't going to lose the senate, but they do have a much harder election than Republicans in 2014, since it's the 2008 class that got swept in on Obama's big victory that are up for reelection. Here's the electoral map for 2014:

upload.wikimedia.org

lighter colors are retiring folk, the dems have five retiring senators, many in swing or right-leaning states, (like WV and Montana), while the repubs have only two retiring senators, from pretty safe states.

Still, in order to take the senate, the Republicans have to win back all of their seats, all of the retiring Democrat seats, AND one more Democrat seat.

Not true. Oiling the Military Industrial Complex is vital to those that enjoy corporate welfare.

Poor Carter achieved approval ratings in the mid 20s (as did W and Nixon).  Obama's okay.

You forgot tax cuts and financial deregulation to make a nice big bubble to pop 5-7 years down the line, hopefully as a Democrat takes office again.

I'm not exactly in favor, but given my Republican options, I'd vote for Obama again today.

I disapprove of Obama's complete lack of spine in dealing with the GOP, which is out to destroy the US economy in revenge for having been denied the White House.

Pretty sure Geroge W Bush had both the highest and lowest approval ratings of any president during his 8 year run.

Right after 9/11 when the country wanted BLOOD? Highest approval rating ever.

Seven years later with the economy in shambles and a 6 month war still going on? Lowest approval rating ever.

Approval polls are so reliable!

I'm not sure if your evidence really supports your conclusion. The approval rating is how people feel about the job that he's doing *now*. When Bush stood on the smoldering bodies of 9/11 victims with his bullhorn and said he'd make sure our military killed some folks Americans loved him. When they finally realized that we'd been lied to for years, they disapproved. That's how it goes.

The retards on Fox News were gloating about Obama having lower approval ratings at this point in his presidency that GWB. They think it means GWB wasn't the worst POTUS evar after all.

Funny... the last time you made such a prediction (Romney will win) you were wrong.

You were wrong about McCain, too.

And wrong about the Republicans taking the Senate in 2012.

Oh, and then your prediction about Republicans picking up even more seats in the House.

So... basically, thank you.  You've just guaranteed the Democrats will hold the Senate.

Fair enough. He starting nose diving about 2 years into his second term, if I remember correctly. He dropped when the economy crashed, but only a few percentage points.

Point is Americans will poll in a 5-6 percentage point swing based on the latest news. Obamacare bad is the current message. Forget the details, that's all the average schlub is capable of digesting.

Give it 6 months...
