MrEricSir: FirstNationalBastard: He probably didn't like it, but he never left Scotti Brothers.

Scotti Bros. was bought by some company, which was bought by another company, which was bought by Sony, and that's how Al wound up on Volcano records, which is owned and distributed by Sony, and why Al sued Sony for his money.

Ah, you're right. That's odd then because he said all that about Scotti Bros publicly. Normally you don't biatch about a company that you still work for to the press.

True, but even though the record labels are bad, we all know that Al is

Seriously. Al is a great guy.

My dad wound up being his work out partner at a gym once.... had no idea who he was and Al didn't do the celeb. thing.... apparently super nice guy. Only found out when he asked Al what he did for a living.

/srsly!

Wait... I'm already lobbying for GWAR to do the Super Bowl.
I can't do both. They couldn't possibly share a stage. I'm pretty sure the laws of physics don't allow it.

GWAR would just follow Al's lead.  Water finds its own level.

MrEricSir: Mobius strip of human stupidity: Remember. It' OK to sue over "ownership" of a bunch of zeroes and ones if the money goes to Weird Al. It's the other people that survive on royalties that should just relax and embrace continuous thievery without question.

Wait, did you seriously just equate fans downloading music to a record label keeping money that was supposed to go to a musician?

Careful... he may ask if you would download a car!

I was on campus turning in some stuff for the nursing program and missed him by about 20 minutes. I got to see him at the Brady; it was great.

Back in 2000, I was in a music store at MacArthur Mall in Norfolk, VA. I heard the manager say, "Excuse me, sir, drinks are not allowed in the store." I look up to see who he was kicking out. Much to my surprise, it was Al! I went up to the manager and told him he just kicked out "Weird" Al Yankovic! Saw him in concert that night and met him after the show. We had a bit of a laugh about that.

/that was the second time I actually got to meet him. First time he autographed my arm... had it tattooed there.
